I am trying to reload this to see if it comes into the rss feed.

Let's see if it works

If you are ever in the area, there is a great little museum about the Donner Party at Donner State Park. There are some nice walking/ biking paths to make a day trip of it. Donner Memorial State Park https://share.google/xwWUJq7yLT21OE9zX

Nothing yet. How long does it usually take to propagate?

DodSno

Not seeing this one in my RSS either

citationpod

Yeah. Some thing is wrong with the site I think. I exported the file in pro tools just like I export the file every week. Labeled it in the same way. It is visible here on the website. It's just not showing up on the app or on mobile web. I'll send a message. Very sorry about this folks.

B

Its not a day if the computers aren't fucking with us. Thanks for being on top of it

Malcolm Boyack

We're not mad, we're just disappointed. Thanks for the effort

tronvillain

I can see it on mobile (Chrome) here and download it without requesting desktop mode, but no luck with the feed. Good stuff.

Christopher Arguin

We'll eventually find the episode, both half-eaten and starving to death.

I tried changing the encoding on the mp3. And changing the name. No luck. I'll give patreon an earfull. The wetransfer link in the other version of this episode will work on mobile just so you know. But it pops a shitty player on apple. Be warned.

Kaziarl

Did you let Eli stick his disk in the floppy drive again?

EffDee

Like the last one, this tries to download an mp3 file that doesn't have the .mp3 file extension. My bet is that podcatchers look for RSS posts that contain media files. It's not an encoding issue, it's some kind of file naming issue.

Bob Cobourn

For what it's worth, I've gotten two copies in my podcatcher. (Podcast Addict)

Bob Cobourn

The file names are much longer than usual. I bet many podcatchers aren't prepared for such a long name and are failing to download.

April Poff

Got it on Pocket Casts. 😎

Keith Adkins

Just got both of the tries on pocket casts

Donovan "Ravenhull"

I went looking for Pocket Casts because of this. Is it worth the purchase price? And how hard is it to set up feeds?

It was the best one I tried for android. I don't know what it is like setting up the feed in app, I used their site for feeds. I think for the app it is as simple as copy and pasting the feed, but I used to site and that is all you need to do.

Ryan Parker

So what you're telling everyone..... Is that your name for Eli's dick is "Safe"? That's a weird name. I actually don't want to know. You guys are weird.

B

Both uploads are now in the RSS feed

Captain Dave

I just downloaded the podcast from my phone and it's playing just fine. Given the recent subject matter, I just assumed it was Andrew trying to hack into Patreon to stop you guys. ;) Thanks!

Somebody fixed something, I now have 3 versions of this episode in iCatcher. :-)

citationpod

I'm thinking this is code side on the site. Because if you download it from the wetransfer link it doesn't do that. It is changing the name to a long gibberish.

citationpod

It was website side. It was changing the name of it or something. They fixed it on their end.

EffDee

Yep. Functioning here now too!

The Gray Hunter

Excellent episode. I was wondering if the "servants" were indeed slaves. George Donner is, interestingly, from NC...Salem... the Salem part of Winston Salem. ( I looked it up on Wiki!). The Moravians settled there and I think (I didn't look that up) were anti-slavery and didn't own slaves. However servants were a common thing in the entire 19th century so they may have been, y'know, servants.

April Poff

I've liked it so far. Setting up the feeds was pretty easy. I ran the free version for several months before throwing money at them, and it worked just fine. The extra functionality has definitely been worth it though.

Ian

2nd best episode behind the Coachella Accident

Aya Sakurai

I agree! The Gonyanyan Accident is hard to top but this one is pretty good. (Does this mean the CN guys really shine when innocent kids die because of their stupid parents' stupid behavior?)

Oxford Comma is Mandatory

As someone who grew up in Oregon and now live in Nevada, their pronunciations of both states drove me crazy. How difficult is it to pronounce Ory-gun and Neh-va-dah?

Alex Emery

When my mom was in school, Manifest Destiny was taught as fact. Oregon Trail meet San Santa Clarita Diet, and I still don't get to bang Liv Hewson.

jessica

Right?!?! I live outside of Sacramento, and grind my teeth every time.

Aya Sakurai

I have watched 4 or 5 Wyatt Earp related movies so far. Isn't Doc Holiday like Eli's imaginary TB Kid? He kept coughing and spewing blood in all those movies, even while gunning down bad guys.
