The Amish (/ˈɑːmɪʃ/; Pennsylvania German: Amisch; German: Amische), formally the Old Order Amish, are a group of traditionalist Anabaptist Christian church fellowships with Swiss German and Alsatian origins.[2] They are closely related to Mennonite churches, a separate Anabaptist denomination.[3] The Amish are known for simple living, plain dress, Christian pacifism, and slowness to adopt many conveniences of modern technology, with a view neither to interrupt family time, nor replace face-to-face conversations whenever possible, and a view to maintain self-sufficiency. The Amish value rural life, manual labor, humility and Gelassenheit (submission to God's will).

I will always have a visceral memory of seeing an Amish family at the counter ordering from Bojangles after a local church van dropped them off

Rip pre show shenanigans

Jasamnajbolja

I feel so empty without the preshow shenanigans...

literally literally

Nature’s first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. We’ll miss you clip clop Tom

It's just not the same if you die in a mid-show sketch. It's not the same... I feel like I'm losing family

Rob

Genuinely what is the reason pre show shenanigans has gone? :(

1) I was waiting for the cheese pun. 2) Neightionwide

Per the skit that ended them, the show was disappearing up it's own butt. I can also see the benefit in saving some time writing & recording, and not confusing/intimidating some new listeners with a serialized cross-over-tacular dramedy.

So I’ve never felt compelled to Google anything from the show before. I don’t know why maple syrup urine disease is what finally moved me to action, but I do know that I’m never doing it again…

I grew up in Holmes County, Ohio. One of the larger Amish populations in the US. The weird hodge podge of tech amused my wife to no end when we went to go visit my family (We're not Amish). I will say, having parents who weren't strict on religion but living in a bat-shit super religious area, made me the Atheist I am today.

The Amish are ridiculous

We got our retropug from an agency that represents Mennonite breeders. They were recommended by the creator of the retropug as she couldn't export. Our dog is a healthy happy sweetie and certainly seemed to be well cared for as did her mum but now I can't help but imagine the worst

The breeder farmstead had a machine that would print out our emails and then they would call us

Lol! I used to be a medical lab tech (for like 5 minutes) and knew what it was too.

As a Marylander, thank you for giving me another reason to stay below the stupid and arbitrary Mason-Dixon Line.

I'm halfway through a two week trip to Japan and just washed my socks and underwear in the hotel bathtub while listening to this episode. A- enjoyable way to do a not enjoyable chore, B- thick irony.
