The Pitman Sculpture - complete miniseries (Patreon)
Content
Hi all,
I wanted to let everyone know that The Pitman Sculpture, the Apocalypse Keys miniseries I played in for Speculate, is now complete and available in both video and podcast form.
--
Four tragic monsters investigate the strange phenomena following a renowned piece of outsider art and learn how it threatens to bring about the end of the world in THE PITMAN SCULPTURE.
--
My character in this series is Tempo, The Last. The Last is a playbook all about grief, memory, and hope. I imbued Tempo with my love of characters in the mold of Superman, inspired also by Planetary #10: "Magic and Loss".
I developed some of Tempo's backstory before the game - but most of the worldbuilding I did for Tempo and the Relleum was done live during play, as a challenge that I set for myself in improvisational worldbuilding and character development. Though I only played Tempo for three sessions, they'll stick with me for a very long time.
Everyone involved in The Pitman Sculpture brought their characterization A-game and the series is full of emotional interactions, explorations of power and self and responsibility and what it means to want and be wanted, what it means to be a person, and how to create self-hood. It's the last actual play project I participated in as a co-host of Speculate, and it was a great high watermark for my work as a player in actual play.
The miniseries is published as 13 podcast episodes at very digestible lengths at speculatesf.com or wherever you find podcasts. And if you prefer video to get all the reaction shots and my fun alien body language, you can watch the full miniseries at the playlist linked above.
