You may have already seen that I'm going to be traveling a lot over the next few weeks.

I'm headed to Montclair for the New Jersey Web Fest this week, representing Speculate as the producer and GM for Valloward, our Court of Blades series - which is up for 4 awards including best GM.

Next week, I'm flying to San Francisco for BigBadCon, where I'll be running a Genrenauts playtest, playing games new to me, and hanging out with TTRPG folks.

And the week after that, I am going on an Actual Vacation (TM) with Meg to see her brother. No work element whatsoever!

But this means that streams and posts may be a bit few and far between. So I wanted to make sure to draw folks' attention to some of the cool things I've been doing over the last couple of months to tide you over.

This week, I talked about making failure a positive part of your ttrpg and not just a bummer in Failing Forward.

Last week, on the last day of the Kickstarter, I read through the Quick Play document for Schwalb Entertainment's Shadow of the Weird Wizard, one of many upcoming games in the broader 5e/D&D-alike ecosystem.

About a month ago, I read a read-through stream for Heroes by Hearthlight, a Forged in the Dark fantasy adventure game focused on adventurers and their community.

I've been very active doing Genrenauts RPG work and so I've got several design diaries. #6 from July, #7 from August, and then one from earlier this month, available right now only to Patrons.

Since I couldn't go to GenCon, I spent that weekend scouring the internet for information about Darrington Press' forthcoming fantasy adventure game Daggherheart and analyizng what that information might indicate about the game.

In Speculate news, we've got a straight-to-the-action version of the first episode of Valloward as a great place to jump on for new viewers.

And our latest discussion episode on Emergent Theme in TTRPGs - when your game takes on a meaning you didn't anticipate - using examples from Speculate series and our other games.
