Cool Games News (Patreon)

Some exciting things have been happening in the TTRPG space, so I thought I'd share some of the news that's got me buzzing:

Just today, Evil Hat Productions announced that they're developing an official Tomb Raider ttrpg, called Tomb Raider: Shadows of Truthwith Rae Nedjadi (Apocalypse Keys et al.) as the Lead Designer and my friend and former Speculate co-host Brandon O'Brien as a Contributing Designer. There's an interview with Rae and others on Polygon now: https://www.polygon.com/tabletop-games/24075225/tomb-raider-ttrpg-playtest-announcement-lara-croft-crystal-dynamics-rae-nedjadi

http://Rascal.news is a worker-owned ttrpg news site created by Linda Codega (who you might recognize for their landmark reporting on the OGL crisis of 2023), Rowan Zeoli, and Chase Carter. Following the reader-supported model of Defector or Aftermath, they soft-launched this week and have already published an incisive review of a sponsored Marvel ttrpg actual play, an analysis of YouTube's biases about what counts/matters in ttrpgs through a community highlight video they made, and community announcements about crowdfunding campaigns.

Shut Up & Sit Down co-founder Quinton "Quinns" Smith has launched a new YouTube channel called "Quinns Quest" focused on ttrpg reviews, with the intent of encouraging discovery of independent games. His first video is live, covering The Wildseaby Felix Isaacs (published by Mythworks)  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c29Ecut4K_E&t=2s  The project has a Patreon with the complete version of the excerpted interview used in the video plus essays and more.

EDIT: I realized I'd already posted about Rascal.news, so here's a bonus item:

Riley Hopkins is Kickstarting a 2nd edition of Interstitial, a ttrpg inspired by Kingdom Hearts about smashing together various IP and playing in a multiverse crossover. The game focuses on the links between characters as the driving force and emotional core of the game:
