After some consideration, I decided to obscure the video and audio for this series. Even if I could potentially get away with showing the full episode, since they are free to view on Youtube, it still feels disrespectful to infringe on that copyright and collect money when the production is non-profit.Here is the episode to sync up with me! https://youtu.be/3G-ziTBAkbQ

Looking forward to this, and definitely the movies!

Michael

Just when I thought you were about to get to the movies , now this it’s not cannon . I’m sorry but I’m going to cancel my membership I’ll rejoin when you get to the movies on patreon ( not discord)

Russell

Like today's comics, there is no cannon in Star Trek. That ship went bye bye a long time ago.

James

here we go!!!

James

🤣 truth!

Anthony V Thompson

I believe that, since your reaction / reviews will renew attention to this fan series, you should show the eps unless someone associated with it requested you not to. My opinion, FWIW.

Anthony V Thompson

Why are you surprised by this? She has stated that this was her plan for as long as I can remember. Were you not paying attention?

Michael

Maybe she said it on discord I didn’t know but I can’t pay $15 for something I’m not interested in , I’ll rejoin when she posts the movies

I've stated before that I have never watched much Star Trek stuff that was not canon, as I always assumed that it was poor quality. How wrong I was! It's refreshing to be able to watch something for the first time along with Bunny, as I'm SUCH a Star Trek fan I've seen everything numerous times. So to be able to watch first an episode of New Voyages with her last week and now Continues has been a blast, so that we can directly compare our reactions and takes. I really did enjoy this for the same reasons Bunny said, and look forward to watching the rest. It looks like there's 11 episodes, the last one being a two parter, so assuming one a week she will finish Continues and move on the movies in mid July, with my best guess of starting TNG sometime in September. There was a LOT of loving attention and fan service paid by the creators of this show to the original one. The major things I noticed: I don't recall Bunny saying anything about this, but it was all the same music used; recreations of the sets and the props; the uniforms and fonts and the overall look and feel of the presentation. Hell, even the same 4:3 aspect ratio! There's some actors I liked better then others, but I thought the Kirk, Sulu, and Scotty was on par. It's fun they revisited an old episode, and that they got the same actor -- Michael Forest -- to return to play Apollo. The computer voice for the Enterprise is Marina Sirtis, someone you will see in later Star Trek shows. I recognized her voice right away. A little fun trivia about this episode, taken from Wikipedia: The idea of creating an episode about Apollo came to Vic Mignogna when he remembered that, years before, actress BarBara Luna told him that actor Michael Forest would have been glad to act again in a Star Trek production. Mignogna asked the actor to reprise his role of Apollo in an unofficial sequel to "Who Mourns for Adonais?" and Forest liked the idea. Forest, in his 80s during filming, was included in the story as having been artificially aged, since he had last encountered the crew of the Enterprise only two years prior, according to the original series timeline. The counselor we saw in this episode (the redhead) is Michele Specht, who looks like she has a fair number of acting credits to her name but I've never seen before. She is VERY easy on the eyes though -- I have a thing for redheads! I know that some people are going to either drop out or at least stay out of watching this series, but I support Bunny in deciding to watch this. There's some negative baggage associated with this series, sadly, so I understand if someone decides they don't wish to watch it. That said, I really enjoyed this first episode and am ready for more.

While I couldn't get in New Voyages, this one was more like a TOS episode. Bunny makes a great point about Scotty and this one with Chris Doohan was definitely more TOS than Charles Root, who is an excellent Scotty, just more movies than TOS. The writing is great, and as bunny predicts in Who Mourns for Adonais they debate whether they should send Apollo to a pre-warp power planet to maybe help out, as he does by saving that family's business, and maybe giving them his knowledge of music and poetry. The rest of the cast is magnetic to very good. Two gorgeous women playing Uhura and McKenna... Bunny looks awesome in the cosplay she wore in the photoshoot, here in the original interpretation. The colors of the uniform and the stockings are definitely choice!

Star Trek Phase II/New Voyages and Star Trek Contiues were two parallel efforts. The New Voyages set was built in Ticonderoga, NY and is still available to visit today at startrektour.com William Shatner will be there the end of June. The Continues set was in Kingsland, GA (suburban Jacksonville, FL) It has been dimantled and is moving to Sandusky, OH (home of Cedar Point Amusement Park) to open in May 2025. That location will also have tours. The majority of episodes give nothing away by their titles. The titles make more sense after you watch the episodes. I'll be very curious to see your reaction to one of the episodes which is my favoite of the group. BTW Simone was played by Jamie Bamber who was fighter pilot Capt Lee Adama on the rebooted "Battlestar Galactica". His fighter call sign was "Apollo"

Mark Gosine

I'm curious as to everyone's fav ep of STC.

Dave Riley

I’ll say later, don’t want to give Bunny any clues which episodes are potentially better than others until, she sees them

The first time I watched this when it came out; I wasn't so sure. The doc did a good job acting, but just I just had a hard time with him in the part. Bunny, if you'll note. Apollo gets a bit younger each time he gets an influx of power and then starts getting older again. The makeup artist did a good job going from thinning hair to fuller hair and wrinkled to less wrinkled. The actor acted less decrepit. Strong episode out of the gate. But better ones await. The lighting, the direction, the pacing, the story are spot on. I sometimes forget I'm not watching the original.

bunnytails

It is not necessarily the Continues people who would have a problem with it. It's the copyright holders of the Star Trek franchise, like Paramount, that only allow these fan series to exist as long as they are non-profit. Thusly, fair use rules still apply here.

Michael can do as he wishes. Some people only find value in things that are considered canon. I like to watch things that I find enjoyable, fun, or emotionally interesting. Whether it is canon or not means nothing to me, but that is just me. See you for the movies, Michael!

Michael

🐰👌😃

James

I was kind of like star trek continues whut? never knew about these or new voyages even existed but now I’m glad they do and both are very well done productions great job by the actors of both I feared it would be inferior to the canon and I couldn’t except others doing the parts but not so! I can, but I am jealous that they can use the music paramount is very strict I’ve discovered on youtube 😳 happy for you Bunny and everyone that the amazing TOS does continue. And Mckenna is intriguing as the first ship’s counselor

bunnytails

Happy to hear you’re enjoying it!

bunnytails

Indeed, very beautiful ladies here!

bunnytails

Ooh. I’ll have to keep an eye on Apollo throughout when I work on the YT edit.

Trilogian

I for one absolutely love Bunny watching these, and I’m the most militant “canon” Trekkie you’ll ever meet (TNG onward is not canon)! So many Trek fan series were showing their commitment to Trek, the same way fans were inspired to become scientists after TOS! Are they all perfect? Hell, no, but they made huge sacrifices of time and money because they love Star Trek! Hadn’t seen this one for years, but apart from the script and actors giving their all, I was really impressed with the Enterprise and the amazing interiors! And yes, Uhura and McKenna were hot af.

James

whut TNG not canon? explain number one

Trilogian

I can’t really explain before Bunny is watching TNG. No disrespect to fans who even prefer TNG to TOS. I can only say what contradicts the source material I can’t label canon. Spot agrees with me.

James

I appreciate both shows I started deep space nine didn’t get too far but really enjoyed TNG as a updated continuation that respected TOS

Trilogian

Im intimately familiar with TNG, DS9, and Voyager. All have some really strong episodes that im looking forward to Bunny reacting to!

Trilogian

TNG spawned an entirely new generation of fans, just like it’s title.

Carlos Stevens

WAIT! WHAT!!! Marina Sirtis was the voice of the computer! ::astonished pikachu face::

Gary Brown

The episodes get better and better with each one they’ve made all the way up to the finale.

StuArtist Studio

Bunny, welcome to the world of "Star Trek Continues." I think it's a must for every Star Trek TOS fan to at least give this production a look-see.

Joshua Langweil

When will you be posting more of these? I’m out of Star Trek content!! 😁

RebRox65
