Oldboy (2003) - Full Watchalong

Comments

William Terry

This movie is not for everyone. Great director's vision, great acting, especially the boss, Lee Woo-Jin. The story was okay, but not enough to keep me fully engaged. Bunny does a great job toughing it out in the scenes showing gratuitous sex and torture. The story is based on The Count of Monte Christo, which I haven't read. The fight scenes were excellent, reminded me of Netflix Daredevil. Two Korean movies I'd like to recommend: The Host and Yongary (coming soon on 4K), great Kaiju movies!

Ahh. I had no idea it was based on The Count of Monte Cristo. I've heard of it, but have also never read it.
