I agree with bunny that was an awesome movie! You look fabulous in the Spellbinding Witch cosplay! Some of the best production for a movie I've ever seen. They made the extras stand closer to the camera than usual as the costumes and makeup were very good. The chase through the forest on horseback was exciting and better than a similar scene in Star Wars. The army of darkness being composed of Ray Harry Harryhausen skeletons but with talking and names was great and Sheila was a great character. I have a few notes on the history aspect: they had shoelaces in the fourteenth century, I think, although maybe in Northern Europe people wore pull on boots, but the shirts had laces, in lieu of buttons or zippers. Good storming the castle scenes although battering rams were siege weapons, not infantry.

So glad you had fun with this, Bunny! The Evil Dead movies were the go-to movies for ,my gang of high school friends, hanging out on the weekends, sitting around on the couch and floor in a (ahem, sometimes smokey) basement. (Very that 70s show style but in the late 80s/early 90s). I must’ve seen AoD a dozen times. I always said I is a fun horror movie with some humor. II is a horror comedy. And AoD is a comedy spoof of horror and epic fantasy, but one that still functions damn well AS a horror fantasy. A couple of random observations, though I’ll bet many of the were pointed out by people in the live stream - In the windmill scene Ash immediately smashes the mirror because he remembers that in the previous movie his doppelgänger leaped out of the mirror and tried to choke him. Alas, that just creates a bigger (smaller?) set of problems - The Ash imps are very reminiscent of the Lilliputians in Gullivers Travels - “Klaatu Barada nikto” is a reference to the classic 50s sci-fi movie The Day the Earth Stood Still. - You were on point when you brought up Lord of the Rings. Peter Jackson has said he was a fan of Sam Raimi and was influenced by these movies. The scene in Fellowship is almost certainly a tribute to AoD, and Jackson has cited the Evil Dead series as an influence on the battle scene in the mines of Moria. - The poster art for this is a tribute/parody of the “Frazetta Pose”named for the fantasy art of Frank Frazetta, For comparison look at the original posters for Star Wars A New Hope,Conan the Barbarian, and many others Anyway, one of my all time favorite “fun movies”.Great reaction Bunny! (And of course you look ravishing in costume, as always 😘)
