There's a lot of sound and fury in the Spider-Man franchise which matches bunny's reaction rooting for the relationships and characters more than the problem solving and action scenes. These Sam Raimi movies hold up very well. It looks like they upped the special effects because I remember it looked kind of fake when they were released at theaters.

Great reaction Bunny! This is a fun movie. There are a few plot holes but you picked up on them right of the bat Bunny, so no point in belaboring them. The great thing is that Raimi really went "full Raimi" in the action scenes and it's visually incredible IMO. Peter really is kinda awful to MJ throughout this one. On the other hand, he's supposed to be, what, 20? I dunno about anyone else but I remember being in love at 20 and lo these many years later, I look back and I'm not entirely impressed with my own decision making at the time, so whaddaya gonna do? :)

I was one of the ones saying that while I think all three Raimi Spider-Man movies are great, the second is the best. Great story, great acting from everyone in the movie, great music, and great action scenes. As a long time fan of the comics, I admired how they both managed to keep the basic plots and essence from the comics while also breathing new life into it, not the most easy thing to do. Peter and MJ have always had a complicated relationship, due to what he does and how he is, and this is really shown well in the movie. Plus their age also factors in for a lot of that. MJ was one of my first crushes as a kid and I can directly blame her (along with April O'Neil from the TMNT cartoons) for my life long love of redheads. I know when this movie came out a lot of the fellow fans of the comic book were kind of miffed about how MJ found out who Peter was in the movie compared to the comics, but I always thought it was MUCH better in the movie. Peter assumed MJ would get the hell out of there when he rescued her, took his mask off to get through to Doc Oc, and then was surprised she didn't leave. The video game based off the movie (for the PS2/GC/XBox) was also a blast and my favorite Spider-Man game until the more recent Innsomatic Games came out. It's so much fun swining around NYC and doing Spider-Man things.

For the record... Aunt May (per the comic books which I used to collect..) knew he was Spider Man.

Also...FYI, per Marvel Cannon (Circa 1980-2005), Spiderman was the 5th strongest Marvel Super hero.. #1, was of course The Hulk, #2, was Thor, #3 was The Thing, #4 (alas, I don't rememgber), and #5 was Spiderman.

I said and did some questionable things in my youth as well!

Danny Elfman is one of the most iconic composers in Cinema History. Probably most known for creating the score and theme for Batman (1989) his most known piece was actually probably for a TV show... The Simpsons.
