Watching this alongside my DVD this was my dad's favorite in the franchise until 6 came out. Oh bunnbunn not sure if you heard these last couple days but tragically Carl Weathers whom played Apollo passed away only 76. :(

Levi V

Don't waste any time. Binge watch Rocky 4, 5, and 6... then release them as you see fit. Bear in mind, Rocky 6 is called "Rocky Balboa" . . . no "6" in the title. Also....just a few years ago... in 2021, Stallone created a Director's Cut of Rocky 4, which (in my opinion) is superior to the original release. Better storytelling. Better script. The original release left a lot of the best stuff on the cutting room floor.... something Stallone rectified with the Director's Cut. Also, some corny nonsense was left out of the Director's Cut. The Director's Cut is called "Rocky 4: Rocky vs. Drago." (As opposed to just "Rocky 4.") Naturally, don't dig too deep into the pros and cons of each, when deciding. You'll no doubt discover spoilers.

Thanks for letting me know about the director’s cut! I’ll see what the majority recommends.

I’ve heard of him, but I didn’t know it was him in this!

I personally recommend the theatrical version, you can always come back to the Director's Cut between Creed 1 and Creed 2 where it actually has an emotional nice fitting.

I find that many people in other forums prefer the original release... but only because they admit their emotions are caught up in the nostalgia... for the differences. But sorry.... minus that very subjective reason.... I insist that the better version, in terms of writing, etc., is the Director's Cut. But let them choose however they want to. Honestly, in some OTHER forums, the majority of people agree with me. It's just that a lot of intelligent, character-developing dialogue never made it into the original release. We shall see what this community says. Just do yourself a favor, and do NOT look for opinions OUTSIDE of our community, because you WILL come across spoilers.
