I don't particularly care where you start at, but I'm watching my own copy off of a DVD so if you're going to start after the intro then I need at least a couple seconds of visible footage to sync with because my times won't match yours.

In regards to Korra and Mako being beaten by Chi blockers, they fight in a very similar style to Ty-Lee from ATLA, and she regularly posed a serious threat for Katara, Sokka, and even Suki. I'd say it's fair to think that two fairly young benders could be beaten by some experienced Chi blockers, especially if it's the first time either has fought such foes.

Yes, they have been living in a time of peace so they will have a lot of room to grow throughout this series.

There is also another thing. The equalist have made it clear in these first 3 episodes that they are a treath for benders. We don't know yet how big of a treath but it's fair to say that if Amon can take bending away that chi blockers are trained to specifically defeat benders. You don't have to be the strongest to win a fight. The only thing you need is knowing the others weaknesses and how to use those. And that's something they do!
