Interesting way to spell my name 😉😂 So, it looks like you could use some help with the pronunciations of certain names and words. Atelier (it's a French word) is pronounced like the words "ah" "tell" "lee" "ay" Qifrey is pronounced like the words "key" "free" Tetiah is pronounced "Teh" "tea" "ah" Richeh is pronounced "Ree" (like in the word Reebok) "cheh" (like the word meh) Agott is pronounced "Ah" "go" "tuh" So, the forbidden spells that were talked about in episode 2 are basically any spells you put directly on your body with erasing someone's memories as the one exception to the rule. Also, anyone can be a witch, they just need the correct tools to do so (all explained in these 3 episodes). Basically, at a certain point, too many people became witches in the past, so a pact was signed that only allowed select people to become witches from that point on and to keep the true nature of magic a secret from everyone else, thus people like Coco and her mom believing that people have to be born with magic in order to use it. At the time I first told you about this show, there were 9 episodes then, now there's 12, with the 13th and final episode of the first season coming on Monday. I'm glad you're enjoying the show!

Witch Hat Atelier, noice! This is such a beautiful anime with a not so subtle message that art (and I'll extend that even further and say stories) are magic. The storybook aesthetic that permeates this anime is a wonderful extension of the manga (which I have not read yet). I love when an anime expands and enriches the source material. That's what adaptations are meant to do, to stay true to the source material while enriching it. This anime combines beautiful visuals with very good storytelling. This would've been a strong contender for the next anime I'd do after Spy x Family, but now I don't have to lol

This anime brings me joy. My kid got me the first few books of the manga when they were first released for Christmas, thinking it was up my alley. It is. He was right.
