The Elevator Hundredth Floor (Patreon)

Cardonali the magical imp was doing what he always did, he caused trouble to others for his own amusement. Cardonali had the ability to put any thought into a person's mind and manipulate them as he wanted to. He stood unobserved or at least unacknowledged in the back of an elevator waiting to see who would get in.
Thomas and Jaden, two high school-aged boys, entered the elevator They were planning on going to go to the park to throw the ball around. They were soon joined by a woman and two toddlers. The woman was taking her daughter and her daughter's friend to daycare.
Unbeknownst to everyone involved, Thomas and Jaden swapped bodies with the two little girls.
Thomas and Jaden got out at the lobby and the mother with the toddlers got off at the garage lever.
No one noticed when two unescorted little girls walked out of the lobby and down the street. That is until Eric Jones saw what he thought were three-year-old walking down the street unescorted.
"Whoa, where are you going?"
"None of your business," Jaden retorted.
"Hey, that's not nice. Where's your Mommy?"
"I don't know wherever. Who are you?"
"I'm, Ummm, I just don't want you to get lost. I'll help you find your Mommy."
"Get away from us, creepo!"
Stunned at how this was going, Eric exclaimed, "What?"
"Leave us alone."
"Let me just help you..."
Thomas and Jaden looked at each other and then without saying anything started to run. Not that with their little legs they could run very fast.
Eric didn't know what to do for a split second. Should he run after these little girls? Maybe running after toddlers which weren't his wouldn't be a good idea. Instead, he called the police. "There are two little girls," he told the dispatcher, " They can't be more than three or four all alone on the street."
"Are they with you?"
"No they ran off, there are at..."
Meanwhile, at the daycare, the police were also being called. This time because of a strange woman who was trying to drop off teenagers at daycare who only accept toddlers and other preschoolers.
The police were not equipped to handle this type of problem. But this wasn't the first strange occurrence to happen in this area in recent times.
