Hi guys,

I knew I would need at least 2 months to create the endings for GGGB, but as it always happens with me, it's more work and taking longer than I initially expected... And I already had to left out several ideas I wanted to add, but it was just too much.

You know I hate failing to stick to deadlines, but there's no way I want to rush this. The amount of art required for this update is massive: the updates that were most packed with art had around 260 image files (taking into account variations and other add-ons, like tattoos and such) and so far I have created 650 for this v1.0 update, and I'm not done yet...

Also, I'd hate dropping 3 or 4 lines of text to cap off a character's ending. I feel like I need to write something interesting and meaningful that resolves their story and character threads in a satisfying way. A lot of the cast have sex scenes as part of their endings, and they need to be interesting, related to their story and feel fresh and not identical to the ones from the other characters.

But I'm making good progress. So far I have most of the art done and my goal is to finish the remaining drawings before the end of this month. I've also written all the npc endings and most variations and also all the possible thug endings. I'm left to write the other endings for Ash, but almost everything relating to npc's is done, which I think makes things simpler. A few pre-Alpha testers are already helping me with the bug review of the work already completed. I'm also seriously brainstorming ideas for the next project, and that's very important too.

Anyway, I will keep working hard to give you a good, finished product as soon as possible. I hate taking longer than I wanted but I try to find solace in the fact that even triple A companies delay their games all the time (I'm still waiting for Mont and Blade 2, you evil bastards). The changes in tiers I announced won't take place this month, since I can't release v1.0 yet. But it will be here sooner than later, so don't you worry.

Thanks for reading me and for your support!

Kisses,

Eva

Take your time, get it right. I really don't envy the position you're in.

In the grand scheme of things, three months of development time for the endings is not very much time. I also think that you should take December off. At most you could post something about the new project, but not more than that.

Kwadwo

Honestly, you are one of the most consistent developers out there. I have pretty much never seen you delay an update, so you having to do so once is perfectly fine. It is also the single most important update of GGGB, making it crucial to get right. Take your sweet time with this. We all want it to be as awesome as it can be!

I know others have already said it, but seriously take your time. I would prefer a satisfying, well earned end over a rushed one *cough* Game of Thrones *cough* You're doing great work, keep it up!

Samantha Louise

Yeah I’d prefer a delayed but fully fleshed out and good ending then something rushed out to meet a deadline.

Sin Art

its just amazing what you have done till now, so chill, take your time and let us finish this together :)

PureBlueOctopus

Looking forward to the finished product! We'd rather wait until you are happy with it. Have you considered a steam release?

Dracker Drap

You've been among the most consistent developers in terms of releasing content regularly so I think it's perfectly fine that you work as long as you need to for this final update. Don't want a GoT Season 8 happening here ;)

VK

No need to worry. Good work takes time, specially when it's time to finally end everything.

Talking about the finished product, I think it would be nice to have a rolling closing credits with Eva Kiss (of course) listed as creator, then the proofreaders and the music credited, and then a long list of all patrons in whatever order is easiest to extract from Patreon. The game isn't finished yet, but I think it would be nice way to give some special thanks to your proofreaders and give a nod to all of us pitching in to the production over the years.

Please, please, please! Do! Not! Rush! This! Take another year if you need to just do whatever it takes to make the game as good as possible and make all of the endings as satisfying as possible. This game is amazing, and I would hate for that to be soured by a lackluster ending.

Bernd Mayer

Take as a long as you need!! We don`t want a Games of Thrones ending!

Vitreous Humour

No problem here. You've been consistently productive for something like 2 years straight, if anyone has earned the right to push a deadline it's you!

Evan Banks

Honestly, I expected this. With what's already in the visual novel, two months time to wrap it all up wouldn't be feasible unless you were to cut corners, and none of us want that. We all want this to be the best it can be, and if it takes longer, so be it, because we know the quality will be worth it.

Dashole

Take your time!! The last thing we want is for you to rush it! It sounds like you've got the biggest impetus for endings - in that they have to be meaningful and not wafer-thin!

final fantasy 15 is a rushed product, most player can feel it, and it doesnt feel good. Even triple A become a crappy if rushed. take your time to polish the ending, i think that would be what i (probably most of the dedicated fans) prefer.

face oupile

To be honest, I'm relief that you didn't finished everything in two months. Due to the amount of work, all endings, all choices made... it would have meant that you've had rushed it. Which you shouldn't... as you only have one shot to make a great first impression, you only have one shot to make a good ending. Yes, I'm talking to you, ME3....

So it's been three weeks since this post. You spoiled us before with all your frequent releases. I want to see how all the other paths end up since I was least interested in bimbo Ashley.
