Wish you would turn on subtitles so you understand the lyrics. Jin is the astronaut and the girl represents Army. He was saying goodbye for awhile because of military and he will return. This was his goodbye gift before he went into the military. You should watch the live performance of this. He flew all the way to Argentina to perform with Coldplay. Also make sure to check out Chris Martin's speech when he introduced Jin before the performance 💜

The long discussion after the mv was so fun to watch lmao I so badly wanted to just reach through the screen and tell yall that BG4 was right 😭 he got it immediately! I love whenever he’s on the reaction. Both funny and observant – hope he can come on more often :) Jin has my personal favorite voice out of Bts. There’s a certain elegance and strength in it… but it’s also not so perfect that it’s distant from the emotions he’s trying to convey. I find his to be the most emotional, honestly. If memory serves me right, his solo song, Awake, was the first one out of Bts’ discography to make me tear up. Excited for his return and album 💜

The little Girl represents ARMY, the song is for ARMY, written by Chris Martin of Coldplay, he also provided background vocals. if you can, please react to Kim Seok Jin a documentary. It is old but it gives more insight into Jin's character and, how hard he worked to be in BTS. He had never sung or danced before joining. I'm so happy you reacted to Jin, he's such an amazing vocalist and so different from the rest of the guys. Rather ballads and pop rock fit his voice so well. You also figured out the story line in the end! Also the aspect of ARMY was spot on.

Jin made and released this song as a goodbye to ARMY before going to the military. The story line also relates to the military situation, BTS and Jin had planned to enlist in 2020. But due to the pandemic and other reasons, they kept postponig their enlistment multiple times in the name of being there for ARMY. So in that sense Jin "missed his ship" to stay with ARMY a bit longer.

THIS live is soooo good, he performs at the Coldplay concert in Argentina! Chris Martin made this song and gave it to Jin (Jin wrote as well) (they've worked together on a different song, "My Universe" with BTS.) Their bond is so wholesome and I love watching the bts of all that stuff being shot.

I recommend Jin performing this song at the Coldplay concert in Argentina. He flew all the way to Argentina (40+ hours flight) just days before he had to enlist, just last minute deciding to do a goodbye performance. Totally agree! Jin is the 👽 he should go back to his planet now that the ship is fixed but he misses the girl (ARMY) can’t bear to leave her behind. The drawn picture of earth showing home pops up after he decided to turn back around. Earth is his home now. We get a glimpse of his space home between scenes of him helping the girl. The fact that Jin specifically dedicated it to ARMY as a goodbye before enlisting really ties the video and song together. 💜💜 So think of enlistment as the time away when he leaves to find the ship but in the end he returns.

Everything I said here is excluding BTS. So I’m saying if I’m not listening to BTS and is listening to kpop, it’s usually older Kpop. And when I mention “not listening to new songs after 2019” I’m referring to western songs. I genuinely haven’t listened to new western songs or at least liked them since 2019. lol BTS are my #1 I was not referring to them in this statement at all.

Actually, E-man caught a LOT of things early on in the reaction. You guys just weren't listening to him. LOL. He should get credit for some of that. :) Glad you like Jin's song....it's definitely a special one for ARMY, since he asked Chris Martin to help him write a Farewell song for ARMY just before entering the military. Y'all gotta watch the LIVE performance he did WITH COLDPLAY in Argentina. SO GOOD!!! (did y'all notice that the girl (ARMY) is riding a purple bike with a purple helmet on? The guy on the tv screen was Chris Martin of Coldplay. Jin asked him to help him write a song to tell the fans goodbye for a short time, that was six months before he announced he would be first to go to military. My take on the MV is that the parents found Jin 1st, moved him in (remember Superman?) to raise him but had the daughter later. He’s been watching for the beam of light, he went to see if he could leave, and then didn’t. He was still gone for a short time but came back. Jin flew to Argentina and performed this song live one time with Coldplay, and Chris explains how he met BTS and the reason for the song. They had done my Universe before this. I thoroughly enjoyed you guys working on your analysis of the song! Also, thanks for the Phil Collins reference. I've compared Jin to him in the past and a lot of people didn't get it. But Jin is very much the 90s style pop rock balladeer in the vein of Phil and Michael Bolton. Love his voice and the stories told with his songs!

So, Jin is a big Coldplay fan. One day he tweeted about wanting to work with them. That got back to Chris Martin and he wasn't sure that could work. But, he opened up to the idea and the two bands have become a "band of brothers." He made a lovely speech about their bond at the Argentina concert while introducing Jin. As others have said, Jin told Chris Martin that he had to go away to the Army and wanted a song to say goodbye to their fans. That’s official as both Chris and Jin have discussed this in separate interviews. I don’t think the concept of The Astronaut was by chance. But other fans correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not completely clued up on the BTS Universe. But isn’t Jin a time traveler in that, who goes back in time to try and change the awful things that happens to his friends. But instead causes a butterfly effect? Another connection was his song Moon for Map of the Soul 7. Both him and RM spoke on interviews and lives explaining the song was about his relationship with Army. How he is the moon and Army are the earth, who both only look and rely on one another. Also that the moon is the one that moves the tides, so consequently affects earth. My thoughts are, but only surmising, is Jin had a theme in mind when he co-wrote this with Chris Martin and Kygo. Jin having the opportunity to leave earth, but in the end he can’t because of his love for Army. Moon was also written in the crossword. Also the child representing Army was also seen in J-Hopes farewell track, On the Street, where he places an earbud in a child’s ear and then sets them off while waving goodbye before he starts singing

Those dirty jokes about fucking always disgust me 🙄 I don't know if this a rap culture thing or just American men always being dirty minded so they can't avoid that type of jokes... It's just too much and sometimes ruin the video for me. I mean I am not sensitive at all and I am not a prude. It's just getting boring to get same noises and movements imitation of sex in every video. This MV is so pure and so heart warming but you did ruin it for me. And I know that it is my problem not yours.

Everyone has a different reaction when they see a little girl in an Astronaut mv. I can understand that. When I saw her I thought about how cute this relationship is and what a great dad Jin is gonna be someday. Your reactions to that little girl is to think about sex and to play it. That's OK I guess.

I can’t pretend to be even the least bit sane about this song. When everyone was saying that the little girl represented army and he taught her how to ride the bicycle and sent her off on her own basically saying army will be okay while he’s gone AUGHHHHH😭 the tattoo that says army in braille and the crossword puzzle spelling army. He lowkey so wrong for leaving this as he “see you later song” it did NAWT make me feel better lmaooo. But he’ll be back in 18 days so all is well.

Yea, let’s all be careful about our wording when commenting about sensitive topics. Yes Jody joked about sex around the same time the girl pops up, but it is NEVER directed at the girl!! ✋🏽This is an IMPORTANT distinction! His joke was about JIN having ADULT “relations” to become a father. At no point did Jody say or infer anything about that little girl! Please be clear about this when you comment. I think we can all agree that’s very serious and not to be joked about, including Jody because he was rightfully offended by the insinuation that he did so. At this point we’re all accustomed to Jodys humor and he’s not PG. To appreciate NJA reactions you have to be comfortable with adult conversations and jokes or skip forward a few seconds. He got alot of heat with Jimin in the beginning so I feel for Jody, let’s not insinuate disgusting things by making connections where they don’t exist.
