you guys should react to the whole album! It's a whole bop. I recommend first doing the lyrics videos from the top to the bottom of the album. It will be easier for you guys to understand since he does sing/rap in korean in some parts.

Now Jody I do agree that you are right in saying that it is a fact that the American music market wants English music and that is what will likely get played in the radios and get “popular” etc. but I think that should change. Rather than the artist needing to conform to the “standards” I think the industry needs to branch out and be more open to more cultures and languages. And the only way for that to happen is if the listeners aren’t always saying they want English music. BTS are really really popular, even if you don’t know their songs, you have just heard of BTS. Now they were able to have kind of world wide popularity with only really having 3 English songs, so they were able to get their fame just from their regular music in their own native language. And I think that is what we need to encourage and embrace more. We need to welcome diversity rather than pushing it away cuz “that’s just how the industry is” ( I just want to be clear that this isn’t at all hate to you, just an opinion on something that I have had for a while. You are of course free to disagree.)

When I first saw this Mv i was so damn confused, but then when I realized the song was titled “Lost” it made sense lol. It’s not supposed to make sense! It’s supposed to make you feel as the title says, lost. The people following Rm actually represent different parts of himself — they are all wearing a name tag that says “hello my name is RM”. The Mv opens by reading “Inside Namjoon’s brain”, so I figure that everything we see after the music starts playing is a representation of Rm’s inner workings. There’s more to say about each scene, but that’s basically the jist of it lol. At least from my understanding anyway 💜 thanks for the reaction!

Ty so much for what you said before the video. It made me happy to see you have a good time. The Butter box came in yellow and orange. I kept the yellow and gave you the one in the PTD colors. The headband is Chimmy, Chim Chim, Jimin’s animal character he created himself. Tiny Tans have a YT channel and they have cartoons of the BTS members singing, so cute. Lost is my least favorite song on the album, but it’s growing on me. I love Groin, the MV just dropped for that one. In the interview with Jimin he talked about being angry in the first three songs. He addressed controversies that he was upset about like getting hate because someone got a pic of him smoking, and how Korea kept making him do stuff a diplomat would do but he’s just a guy. One of the songs says, You walk like a duck, bitch. It’s stuck in my head. Jimin said that RM’s albums are like a diary. When you look at it that way it makes more sense.

RM did a feature on a track called Sexy Nukim by Balming Tiger, who are an alternative band from SK. RM is good friends with one of their members San Yawn and he worked with RM on this album, so it’s a very different sound, which RM said he wanted to create. The English tracks they’ve released weren’t written by them. Same with Jungkooks album, which I believe was all written and produced for him, but he probably selected the songs he was presented with

The video of RM and Jimin is really so good. It’s like Jimin is reacting to the songs. Jimin is super cute reacting but had a really insightful conversation which shows why RM picked him to be the one reacting to it. He asked the questions I would have asked. RM opened up a lot about how he needed to turn off BTS for awhile to get that album out but is looking forward to group activities again but not really looking forward to the pressure of being the leader. .

These are some of the songs from the "Proof: Anthology" album, the most recent album they released before starting their solo work. They even have Anderson Paak as a guest for one song!

Yeah I agree with you Flynn, there is no doubt that America has the biggest music market for one country. But also when BTS or the solo members release tracks or albums they go straight to number one in over 100 different I-tunes charts. Not all of those will be English speaking. Music gives you feels even if you don’t know what the lyrics are. But if you read the lyrics it just confirms the vibe of the song. Think that’s what is so special about them. Also think the Coldplay x BTS My Universe show cases that really well with not just the premise of the song, but the fact they sing Korean on it. Also J-Hopes Chicken Noodle Soup, where there is three different languages sung on one track. Global community 🌍🫶🤝

Jody you have to watch the live performance of Home!! Jody there’s an app called Papago, use that to read the album notes. It’s especially good with Korean, native Koreans say it’s better than google translate. There’s an image function. All you have to do is take a pic of what you want translated with the app and it will translate the Korean text for you right in that picture! I use it all the time at the Asian market if an item doesn’t have English description or instructions. ☺️

Just so you know, RM's not trying to be popular with this album hahahh, it's just him doing his artsy art artist thing hahhah. But it's great, the production and instrumentals are incredible, especially on a good box on full volume. In this album, I think RM is the most frank and to the point than his other works ( but I still can't keep up with his 148 IQ ).

I think it's a compilation of all the hard things: the bad media; the kpop standards for not smoking and no partying; the diplomatic expectations; the military issue; the being apart from bts and army; the becoming mainstream and being seen as a pop boyband; and we've also sensed that he may have gone through a heavy situationship or break-up sometime the past 2 years. He's always wanted to be just his normal self, but the burden to be inspirational and be a leader, that has made him put a serious twist on his music always. Now he put those burdens aside, and really did what he wanted and it seems he really had fun. ARMY and the other BTS guys have told him many times he could do whatever he wants, and he said only now he's really taken that chance.

what’s so admirable about our joonie is that he doesn’t try to fit the standard of what korean society wants him to be. this goes for his appearance and his music. he’s gorgeous, inside and out. but what makes him unique is that his music is his own. his own style. his own sound. his own rap. his own flow. i feel like kpop fans always try to judge certain idols/songs based on how “korean” they sound. but namjoon is the type to say “fuck that shit. ima do shit my way”. and i love him sm for that. this album wasn’t dropped for him to try and achieve chart numbers or anything, even tho we’re still gonna give that to him anyways bc we support him in anything he does. it was about trying to showcase his own sense of art through music. thank u for showing him support, guys 💜.
