hobi is actually a nickname! jhope in korean is pronounced more like jhobe and adding an i sound to the end of a name makes it sound cuter/friendlier,, so you get (j) hobi. his real name is hoseok. you can add an i sound to any name that ends with a consonant e.g. jimini, namjooni, but not with names that already end in a vowel. in bts only yoongi ends with a vowel

Lol. They did understand what he translated in English most of the time, they just couldn't speak it as well as him back then 😭. He really loves poking fun at them about it but in the long run if it's super important he'll translate it properly. What I love the most about RMs English is that he'll pick up on the accent of whoever he's around like with James Cordon you can hear RM use a British accent sometimes, it's fascinating

But I'm gonna be sick tomorrow. 🤣🤣🤣 You are absolutely right. I like you and E-man, so I'm paying for Patreon and you communicate with us. You also genuinely love BTS. I subscribed to a duo on Patreon and they do not say anything toward the viewers, nor do they reply to the comments. I duly unsubscribed, obvi. I think that parts of the JK interview (and Jimin's too), they were replying in English when they could and other times in Korean. It was not cut, they just don't know English that well (at least not yet). JK was lovely when he said once that he is learning because he feels bad for RM having to translate. Suga understands A LOT, but he does not like or want to speak English. Jimin is learning - once RM outed Jimin in a live (Jimin was there) that Jimin was learning English all through an airplane flight that was like 11 hours. Jimin was watching Netflix (Boss Baby 😄) and learning through the subtitles. Jimin got shy and said why did you tell ARMY, now they will say I can't do it, if I don't speak better English. Poor cutie.

These are funny. There is one about Suga secretly being fluent in English which is funny. I am going to find a video called Jimin feeling himself, so you can see his freestyle. JK has also gotten good at freestyle dancing, the 3J’s!! J Hopes street dance is top tier. Jin’s name is actually Seokjin, but no one calls him that. Ty so much!!

Like sooooo much!! Lol not sure where you visited in NYC. Definitely it’s not as abundant as Cali but there’s still a very large Mexican and South American population in NYC.

Ouuuuu okay, next trip to nyc I highly recommend you visit the Corona and Elmhurst neighborhoods in Queens!! very dense Mexican communities there, also recommend Sunset Park neighborhood in Brooklyn, as for here in the Bronx my favorite Mexican food spot is El Chiltepin, some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had !! 💜💜💜

I grew up in Sunset Park! Sooooo many Mexicans at my church growing up lol. Can’t forget the abuelitas also selling cups of blended oatmeal or maizena on winter mornings. Jody didn’t go to the right spots apparently.

They don't really add "-ah" or "-i" to end names in a more adorable way, they add the "-ah" ending when they are calling that person, e.g. "Hobah come here", and the "-i" ending to talk about that person, e.g. "Hobi is an amazing person."

Hey again. I wanted to say that I understand your feelings of "missing out" and wishing more of the guys spoke English or would do more music in English because I felt that way for a long time. Until I got more comfortable reading subtitles and digging deeper into the meaning of their lyrics. I also listen to playlists of their beautiful ballads ON REPEAT and that made me appreciate their music and language so much more. Korean truly is a beautiful language, especially for singing. As far as the boys learning to speak English, they do try but may never speak as fluently as Namjoon. I had to remind myself that some people are just not good at learning other languages, MYSELF being one of them. It's especially more difficult to learn languages as a teen/adult. But children soak it up like a sponge. I think more and more Koreans are learning English in school during their early years now...but maybe it wasn't a thing back when BTS were very young.
