The birth rate falls as the economic affluence of a country rises and also women have more education and financial independence. It’s happening in many countries, not just Asia. The new generation wants a more comfortable life than the previous so chooses to have less children. Also the factors in South Korea that make the younger generation not want to get married or have children, are the oppressive and overly competitive social and economic situations created by that same older generation. Men being softer or more effeminate has nothing to do with it. In fact men getting more in touch with their feelings is a good thing.
