You can tell they chopped this season in half. Netflix be releasing stuff in parts. They're doing it with Cobra Kai (season 6 part 1, 2, and now 3). It's Attack on Titan all over again.

Season 3 is gonna be insane Giihun doesn't even know he got betrayed yet and he's gonna believe Young il died. The cast was saying season 3 is a crazy ride so I'm highly anticipating it. I enjoyed this season and I bet Netflix thinks 15-16ish episodes are too many for a binge drop so they do two parts so there's a lot of hype going into s3

Netflix Korea accidentally leaked that season 3 the final season is coming out end of June. Player 120 is my favorite she was willing to sacrifice herself.

I think because so many people missed the point of Squid Games S1, that the writer worked extra hard to put the cookies lower on the shelf to better explain that the point and for people who already understood the theme and social commentary...S2 did feel a bit incomplete. It was a lovely season with characters that once they cooked for a bit (120 is a GOAT) were nice because the focus shifted from the self to the greater good and we saw the shift in that character after the loss of her bestie. A fulfilment almost. The burn was so slow this season that it ending in episode 7 is jarring. The slow burn wasn't bad but there just wasn't enough runway for it.

Agreed they are trying to make as much as money as they can with this franchise. At least we don't have to wait long for the next season/part 2. To keep it 💯 if they would have send that Trans to get the ammo instead of that coward they would have probably been good. Glad that wack drugged up clown is gone because I didn't want to have to wait any longer to see him get got. Shout out to E-Man for getting that fisherman as the op. This Season wasn't bad, but definitely not touching Season 1. Season 3 or Season 2 Part 2 has a chance to be great. This was a B- overall.

The creator and head writer of the show said that when he was writing season 2, it ended up being 14 episodes. What we got was the first 7, exactly half of that season 2, with the other half being season 3. He said it was his decision to split it up instead of releasing all 14 episodes at once, but I'm like 99% sure Netflix made him do it for the exact reason you mentioned of wanting to make people come back for more later.
