Aicha Karamoko

Jody please react to BTS performs "HOME" for their weeklong special on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Fifi

Their main Choreographer is indeed a Korean man. Idk I find it kinda ignorant for E-man to pretty much say “their choreography is too good that he thinks it’s someone American”😃am I the only one that finds that wild? Anyways other than that tho, I really did enjoy this video and hope y’all continue to react to this series.

Mazouri Beasley

What i find crazy is how they were accused of paying to be #1 but wasn’t this when they (and the company) was financially struggling? They definitely wouldn’t be able to pay someone hundreds of thousands of dollars while they were broke for a company

Amanda Michelle

Thanks for the great reaction, guys! When Jody posts BTS content, I drop everything to go and watch! :) This was a good and informative episode and, just so you know, Jody, they get better and better the further you deep dive into The Rise of Bangtan. :) Looking forward to subsequent reactions. :)

Jessie

Thank you for your reaction. When I first started to look into BTS in 2019, their VLIVE app is free, it is where they talk to fans real-time and their RUN BTS shows are also uploaded. Then, it was replaced by Weverse app, i think it is still free but there are add perks if u are an official member.... I don't think that their company and BTS themselves knew the formula how to become 'big'. They just grew organically. It can be attributed to many factors. In my opinion, aside from their exceptional talents and skills, their lyricism is unique and meaningful , the wide variety of the genre of music they offer caters different types of demograpics, their different personalities make them more relatable to audience. ... Before them, I dont know of any celebrities who would share so much of themselves to their fans. PLUS I love the way they love each other, it is refreshing to see. I still learn a lot from them inspite of the fact I am a lot older than them.

Yennhi

the answer was 3,6,13 RM got all of this right i watched it they have give the answer in this RIOB ep but only a little bit is the sound of xylophones after rm answer: ding dong dang that is a sound when everyone get an answer right the song will come and if it’s wrong than you will hear DDAENG instead of ding dong dang the reasons you didn’t get it cuz you’re not familiar with korean variety show or in run bts they do it the same way with xylophone

Jessie

Son Sung-deuk is their main chroregorapher/perfomance director from the very beginning. But they also collaboratted with other choreographers.

Melissa Torres

IDK if u know the purple hair guy from squid games 2 is part of big bang his name is TOP

Fifi

He isn’t part of big bang anymore and doesn’t really want to be associated with them anymore it seems, which tbf I don’t blame him for

Melissa Torres

i know he already gave an interview that he dont wana bring the group down for his mistakes...but he is still considered a bigbang member to us ..i mean he is in the music videos

Kimberley

Jody It's funny you picked Jin to survive out in the wilderness, he was on a show called law of the Jungle where celebrities go out to the middle of nowhere, I think it's for a week or two he did really well on that show.

Yennhi

yeah and the fact that jin catches many fish by using an army bomb which is crazy and that moment is include in RIOB ep 13 Deleted scenes (their deleted scene and bonus content of riob are funny af)

Gamer_Jaystewart

You have the wrong thiong Band Pd was Good with BTS, the Sajaegi accusation where just because they hated BTS (Because they also cam from a Small company with barely any Money and Connections) and didn't like that they won over their fav Idol groups, BTS, Bang PD and Big Hit back then did absolutely nothing wrong they are Just super Talented from the Very Beginning. I feel like you guys have been judging their Ceo just based on his looks which I find kind of a Horrible look to your guys Reactions like Judging someone based on how they look BTS have never had anything Negative to say about Bang PD only ever 1 member of Staff at Big Hit who worked with BTS has ever been fired in the past 12 years and that was because they became controlling and physical with punishment.

I'm at the beginning of the video. Let me break down the history of livestreaming and the Weverse app for you. Because it's quite interesting. Back in the day (2013-2015), BTS used to run an online blog where they uploaded posts, photo's, video logs, even food recipes. The blog is still available on btsblog.ibighit.com , but since 2015 it is run by the company. Next to that, BTS have always had a personal Twitter account and uploaded their video logs and more behind the scenes content on Youtube. +++ read below for 2015 onwards.

Lief

In 2015, a livestreaming app called V-Live was created, and BTS was one of the first artists on the app, and BTS was even in the first advertisements. Ever since the creation of V-Live, BTS has always been the biggest artists on the platform, gaining bigger audiences than more well-known acts. I'd even say BTS popularized livestreaming for Korean artists. V-Live was basically run by BTS. And they were super active, the boys used to livestream in the green room, hotel room, just anytime they wanted. Additionally BTS became active on FanCafe, a kpop fan platform, with fan memberships, used expansively in the world of kpop. ++++ read below for 2019 onwards

Lief

Then in 2019, BigHit became HYBE corp. and expanded the business to a multiple-label system, and beyond the scope of music, they also now have a tech and game companies. Amongst one of the new creations, was Weverse. It is basically a platform created by BigHit, to make BTS independent from any other service company. Weverse is a perfect blend of FanCafe, V-Live, the old blog, and even an online shop (they have also acquired the company of V-Live and merged all the content and services). Any money they make from livestreaming, fan memberships, merch, all goes directly to HYBE and the artists. Initially, BTS was the only artist on Weverse, but it has now expanded to any korean or western artist that wants to be on the platform.

Lief

Also, you can also use Weverse for free. There's paid content, like documentaries, or an optional paid ARMY membership. But you can post, interact, see BTS' posts, watch BTS' livestreams, get official BTS updates from BigHit, and a lot more for free. I don't know if you're active on Weverse, but even Jungkook recently livestreamed to show us his new house during his day off from the military!

Lief

You can say what you want about BigHit or HYBE, but they're very smart business wise, and put integrity and artists high in their priorities. I just hope they never forget BTS built it all, and that they'll always be treated like the original founders they are. Up till now, it's all good.

Jodys Corner

If Bangpd was so good Festa 22 would have never happened. If BtS could tell the truth, yall would know they had beef with the boss.

Jodys Corner

Yeah, Jin is my pick. He seems ready for anything. He seems more in tune with the wilderness than anyone.

Jodys Corner

Ahhh! RM got it! Thanks for telling me the results!

Jodys Corner

Yeah, I agree the way they love each other is nice to see

Jodys Corner

Haters be real in Korea. I would leave if I were them.

Ana Paula

Jody and E-man, I love your reactions. I really like this series because it brings content that was their real feelings at the time. I think you didn't react to chapter 7, "Persona", which is more RM-centric. You reacted to chapter 6 earlier and the subtitles said chapter 7, but it was actually chapter 6. This series is really good, please keep reacting.💜🇧🇷🫰🏾

Yennhi

Yeah idk man everyone in the show was also shock when that happens was not a big fish but him bringing an Army bomb for function as flashlight but it turned out can be also catching fish lol😆 Jin is someone could do good and a lot of survive skills that’s why he go on law of jungle except he is afraid for bugs 🐛

Lief

The reason for BTS' success, is a question even BTS and their staff find hard to answer. If it was some magic formula, then HYBE would've been able to recreate it with more groups by now. But they can't, BTS is just BTS. The boys, together with their closest staffs, like choreographer, producers, managers, music video director, and even with Mr. Bang, are just a well-oiled machine that were able to run on their own fuel. It's no coincidence that still the same staffs are around BTS today, it just works, also the teamwork behind-the-scenes. Like in Hollywood, in K-pop there's a lot of dirty insincere people working. But generally, the people around BTS are well-mannered, well-studied and sincerely hard workers. And that well-oiled machine ran every single day like crazy, always delivering 150% of its capacity. Their music, lyrics, videos, dance, everything is done right, with the right feel, at a high quality and feels sincere. You can dislike one of their songs, but most people admit it's still a quality and tasteful song. Also their come-up story and online presence can't be left out, but those are more practical factors which anyone could try to replicate, but you just can't replicate the feeling BTS give off. The boys are natural and sincere, and even their staffs supporting them pursue being sincere. (However, now BTS is so world famous they've become a bit more closed-off , but that's totally understandable. Still, they show more and talk about wayyy more than your average pop star would be willing to share.) And BTS will always work sincerely on their art and music. They'd never half-ass anything.

Yennhi

Yeah chapter 7 was so emotional for RM about the weight that he carried as an Leader the fact that he was only 19 when he became BTS leader at young age i feel like he is a teenager that was forced too grew up too early which was sad 😞 cuz he actually only older than the maknae line and is the maknae of the hyungline but he need to be mature alot and be serious in the early day. That’s why people always assume him as the oldest of the group

Lief

And you guys don't like Mr. Bang, but before BigHit became HYBE, he also pursued being sincere and high quality. Since 2019-2020 he's more swept up in commercialism and corporate politics and hanging out with American executives. But the way he used to run BigHit from 2013-2019, he was really well-respected by BTS and ARMY, and he tried to protect BTS from a lot of industry bullshit and questionable practices. RM has said "it's all thanks to you (mr. Bang) knocking them (industry people) down all those years". Even now mr. Bang knows he needs to protect BTS, he made BigHit the only independent subsidiary label, which means it is protected from and not reliant on HYBE corp operations. And the BTS members got over 30% of the BigHit shares. Also the BTS members are rumored to have gained additional shares of HYBE in their 2025 contract renewal. He's not a good guy, but he had a great eye for good people and he's done some good things for BTS, and given BTS the respect they deserve. I don't care what he does to other groups or the industry, I just hope BTS stays protected from corporate bullshit and is respected and well-paid by the company.

Lief

Sorry, I went wild. You know me. Please tell me to tone it down 😅 I need to cut down to 1 fun fact per comment 😂

Gamer_Jaystewart

Im not saying he is a holier than though man, he’s human I wouldn’t be surprised if he has made a few mistakes but he isn’t the villain and seeing how he was there and the emotions of the members when they were enlisting when he was meant to be working in the US shows that he cares for BTS. but you have the wrong Idea due to missing Context, the Festa 22 was a sad Live because the members had planned to go to the Military in between 2020/21 so they could get together again as a group as soon as possible but when Covid 19 and the Pandemic happened it threw everything to the wind as Asia was one of the places that had it really bad and the first cases of Covid and they couldn’t enlist when they Told Army they would and so Haters and a few Toxic Army started attacking the members for over 2 years thinking they had been exempted or where trying to get out of Military duty even though all the members kept telling everyone in the Public as soon as they could they would all be Enlisting and so they did with Jin enlisting on Dec 2022 before he turned 30 which was the deadline Age that all men in South Korea must enlist by. And after the Pandemic a lot of the members where worried like most Idols about working solo as during Pandemic they had to work hard to release something and do Online concert to interact with fans in a time they had planned to take a break and go to the Military but that couldnt happen so the burnt themselves out in the End that wasnt Bang Pd fault entirely, and its hard doing group stuff without all the members and they have stated they dislike performing when other members aren’t there to enjoy and perform with them, they are a Team of Brothers who have been through a lot due to haters, other fandoms and death threats over the past 10 years.

Chlo

I was crying laughing at your reactions to the "reactors" watching the 'I need you' video. Jody rolling your eyes, so funny!

Chlo

It's ridiculous how people thought they bought their way to the top. They came from a small company that was literally struggling, where would they get the money to pay for it? People were crazy jealous of their pure success! That's why i'm so proud to be a fan of them because I know they worked their butts off to get to where they are now and it's well- deserving. They are troopers for going through these tough times back then and not giving up.

Jodys Corner

Forreal tho... they werent even in top 3 companies when they won. They killed the Comp off having better talent and music.

Jodys Corner

Nah bruh, keep the details flowing! I lobe reading your comments. I respect what you said about Big Bang.

Jodys Corner

Got dayum! Thwu cleaning up with the $$$ by owning those services in one company now! Oligopoly status!

Jodys Corner

Wow, its like you didnt listen to a damn word they said (especially RM) in that Festa video. They were right. Even when they say a piece of what is hurting them, Army will make it about something else. (Like the military) Them boys were hurting. The 2018 video were V broke down because he was overworked and BIG Bang poppa would even give him a SINGLE DAY OFF....... when he asked for it. I can keep going, but i see there is no point. Like I said. I wish i were their friends so they can be honest with me about everything. They cant tell us the (hell, even 80%) truth
