30:30 As a anime watcher only, I think it's the other way around? We know for sure that Heiter was an orphan but Himmel is ambiguous. From the Hero's Sword episode Himmel says that Heiter was "an annoying kid from the local orphanage" and also Heiter opens an orphanage at some point in the story (which I think is shown when he has the dialogue with Frieren about her suppressing her mana and that his child might one day be a mage) which all just seems like an orphan's way to pay it forward

I may be misremembering but I thought Himmel was an orphan too :') I did say that Heiter was an orphan.

I may be mistaken as well! I think you said like "I know Himmel was an orphan and I think Heiter was too" and in my head it would be the opposite as in we know Heiter is and it's kind of obscure about Himmel but also seems likely was all

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I did say that but it was just how my mind was working haha! :') Because I don't script out what I'm saying it doesn't always come out the way I want it too especially when I'm trying to re-remember past episodes. When I say "I think Heiter was too" it was me covering my base because I couldn't remember if he was or not but had a feeling he was.

great reactoin, for the manga I saw ppl doing it on Twitch and Patreon. YouTube is not safe at all for reading manga, but Twitch, I have been following a couple of ppl over there, and they do a live read, or you could upload your read here. i dont know about your schedule, but I guess doint live is hard and time-consuming either way, whatever you do I wish you the best

If you’re interested in doing manga reactions I would definitely suggest checking out the chainsaw man manga. It’s probably my favorite manga oat and it’s a great read. It also has a 12 episode season and a movie too. And I definitely agree with you on reading ahead past anime, like if you really love a story why not continue enjoying it, why wait for an anime that you most likely have no idea when the next season will come out. For example Vinland saga s2 came out 3 years ago and we still have no official announcement on s3.

Makes total sense, just wanted to help refreshen your memory if you did actually need it :)

I couldn't help being disappointed by the date, but gosh was i squealing throughout! The awkwardness was well-written because I felt awkward, too 😅 You should definitely be able to do whatever you want with your time! ♥️ Anyway, I think it would add a fun dimension to the next season if you're still doing reactions 😁

My boy failed every speech check and still pulled out the W, adorable as expected. Despite that he's fairly observant, Despite the lack of enthusiasm she had. Them laughing on the bench makes this a successful date to me. You rock the berserk reference greatsword in Elden ring?, that's so based

The manga author of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is comparatively less focused on depicting combat, and the first season of the anime provided more supplemental material in that regard, while the story’s dialogue was largely adapted with fidelity. According to the producer—who also served as the director of the first season—the second season includes even more narrative additions in the animated adaptation. From what we have seen so far, this does appear to be the case. These additions further enrich the work as a whole, making it feel more complete, and they are truly excellent.

I'd probably drop a looot of titles if you were to ask for manga recs to react to because there's just so much series, esp those made for girls/women, that aren't properly and/or completely adapted to anime (because we live in a patriarchal society that favors series made for boys/men 🙄). Though it'd also be a challenge if you'd like physical copies because lots of them are OOP (esp the older titles) and (again, as we live in this society) publishers don't want to reprint them. 😒 Anyway, I support you reading what you wanna read! I'll still be watching your reacts to the Frieren anime even if you catch up to the manga. 😄 (that way I wouldn't be wary of possibly commenting something that might spoil you of future events 😆) One of my fave things in the series is the way it weaves the current story with lessons/events from years ago. Esp Himmel 🙂‍↕️💖 my man really haunting us (positively lol)

I think I would love to see you react to the Vinland Saga manga once season 2 ends. Season 3 still has no news, and I would probably stay subscribed for that if you did! Usually manga reactors have the pages up on the screen through digital format while they’re going through their own pages.

I kinda liked that their first date was awkward. It makes them more endearing to me haha. I loved that they had a honest conversation at the end and got to know each other a little better. I feel like the Northern Plateau will be the most dangerous place they’ve traveled in so far so I’m excited to see how our party will handle the upcoming dangers.

We spend a lot of the show reflecting on how Himmel changed Frierens life when he took her in, but this episode really made it clear how he did the same for Heiter and Eisen. After his death they took in Fern and Stark, imparting what they could and now Frieren has adopted both their fledglings and continues Himmels tradition. That moment afer we see his monologue about also wanting to defend other peoples homes, when Frieren just tells Stark that other people live there too and he instantly gets it is such a beautiful illustration of how much of Himmel still lives on. Also having Stark walk in 3 FPS on the date was such a funny way of showing his stiff movement lol

I would love manga reactions. I can really recommend Berserk, Land Of The Lustrous, Homunculus, and the Chainsaw Man manga after watching the first season of the Anime and the movie. These are some of my alltime favorites and I think you would enjoy them too :)
