As I said in one of my comments prior, this is a really well animated show and well made story wise, it's not anything mind blowing but it's still a great show, just enjoy yourself, not all shows need to be 10km deep in it's plots and characters, the known formula well made is more than enough ❤️ (unfortunately Mid Levelling couldn't follow in the footsteps)

So happy to see how much you're loving this anime and especially Tanjiro's character! You know, on past rewatches, I was sure that Urukodaki did not know about the hand demon in the final selection. I didnt think he had any idea why his students came back until Tanjiro survived and told him. My understanding was that only weak demons were supposed to be present so that the students had a chance at passing, and this strong demon managed to survive despite the Demon Slayers expectations and slip under their notice. After seeing you talk about it and rewatching along with you here, I'm no longer sure about that, though. I can definitely see the interpretation that he did know and was trying to prepare his students for a more difficult challenge (and just keep them alive). I dont know if he did that demon any kindness by capturing it alive and imprisoning it, though. When he did, he certainly intended for it to just be killed later by a Demon Slayer initiate. Also, laughed so hard at the "foot demon" commentary at the beginning. You're not wrong about that becoming a thing across media

Everything will be revealed, of course, but like Apothecary Diaries it will span many episodes. The temptation to binge watch is strong. I feel that even though the morphed demon had forgotten his humanity, he still retained a vague sense of wanting to hold his brother's hand. That's why he kept producing more and more arms and hands, always reaching out for something he couldn't grasp. Maybe if he had wanted to give his brother a good kick, he would have become a foot demon.🦶😂

I'm glad youre enjoying this show so far. If you find the crows and the swordsmith comical, you're going to survive crazier characters 🤣 some people's gripe with this show is certain "over the top" characters or tropes being irritating. But I think you'll like them actually. Can't wait for you to see Tanjiro's first solo mission as an official Demon Slayer!

Note that Genya, the boy with the mohawk and the big scar on his face, is voiced by Nobuhiko Okamoto, aka Himmel the Hero. 🙂 Here he's doing a tone more like his other super famous character, Bakugo from My Hero Academia.

Tanjiro's real super power is his empathy and ability to see even those who do horrible things for their innate human origins. Not many people pick up on the fact the water effects on the attacks is an artistic choice to denote the style the move comes from, many think they're literally manifesting the element.

I can't believe it, I'm stunned! 😲 Genya's furious tone is the calm and composed one of Himmel. I would have never guessed it in a billion years. What a fun fact! It's amazing to hear how voice actors can completely transform their voices for various characters. Nobuhiko Okamoto truly possesses an impressive range! It makes me appreciate his talent even more.

While I have my personal criticisms, I still enjoyed how straightforward the story is! It’s a lot of fun and sometimes that enough!

I'm loving this show toooooo! It's great watching it along with you because otherwise I would absolutely binge it and this way I pause and think and really let the episodes stick with me - especially after a second watch with you and your analysis (which I am also loving!). I was a hot mess for the whole first part of the episode... Definitely did not expect to feel so much pity for that morphing demon, but I even shed a tear for him in the end. And when Urokodaki marched up to hug Tanjiro and Nezuko! It was SO sweet that I was blubbering! So hyped for Tanjiro's first mission and everything that comes next!
