100 percent agree with the deathnote take. Pre and post L's death is definitely a different feel and I felt the same. I've never read the death note manga so I'm curious if that handles the ending better

Antonio

Next episode, the opening credits are shown alongside the episode and should not be skipped. There's no skip opening button, but I remember one reactor saw the title card and automatically skipped ahead and missed the scenes shown.

Hohenheim

Just go all out lol, get scars arm tattoos, Hawkeyes full back tattoo, Kimblees hand tats, and Bradlys eye tat.

Yeah, we're finally here! He did it! He succeeded in his plan. I love everyone's reactions to this episode, because first of all, WHAT the hell. Second, we WANT to believe that he won't end up going through with his plan, but he does. So, now what? 4 more episodes to find out.

(Pre-episode) Is there a place where you've posted all your tattoos (as opposed to individually throughout your videoes)? I'd love to see your collection Edit: (Post-episode discussion) I have some thoughts on my interpretation of what/how/why the Father has done everything up to this point, but I'll write it all down and post it on the last episode when you get to it to avoid spoilers

Also, I love your idea for tattoos! I probably won't get any for myself, but I have had the thought of doing something very similar to yours - tattoos representing the series I love and have had a significant impact on my life. The way I'd do them is like pokemon badges - a grid of icons with one representing each series

The final episodes run is just something else in fmab. Each episode is a banger. Soak it all in Dr Sophie. Bask in its glory.

Anime and videogame tattoos are so abundant in California that it's more surprising for me to hear that people have strong opinions about them. If you love a character or body of work so much that it stays with you then a tattoo makes sense . I have a modified homunculus tattoo between my shoulder blades that I will love for the rest of my life ;) Love and appreciate your thoughts on tattoos and piercings in general btw <3 thank you for sharing so much of yourself beyond the reacts Sophie!!! I am sure you've heard this plenty, but your name makes me think so much of Howl's Moving Castle! Not just the Miyazaki film, but the novels by Diana Wynne Jones hehe.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I need to read the novel! I've seen the movie and adored it because it's the first time a protagonist has had my name outside of the BFG by Roald Dahl haha! Yeah - people can still be very conservative about tattoos which is really annoying. I've always been alternative and super excited to add Al to the collection tomorrow!

Jech

I think you will enjoy the novel plus there are two stand alone sequels: Castle in the Air and House of Many Ways if you end up wanting to dive into their world again. Miyazaki's film sort of hinted at things that are much more fleshed out in the books regarding our best gal Sophie too. I don't want to risk spoiling anything, so I will leave it there <3

Fully agree with your stance on tattoos, anime wise I got 2 Berserk related ones (not the mark), a Pikachu with a drink and a Bleach panel. And then non-anime almost 30 others at this point, although I didn't start as early as you did. Been on the lookout for a FMA design and have narrowed down a couple pages, the Roy vs Lust showdown is in the lead for now..

DrSophieDarlingReacts

OHHH that would be super cool!! Yeah my left leg was supposed to be for Elden Ring / Soulsborne tattoos but now I'm leaning into making it another anime leg haha!!

Leah Henderson

I love that you grabbed Sully when the ish hit the fan! XD I think my hands were pressed to my face from beginning to end of that scene. Hard agree about the music, too; it's so good!

Kyle Taggart

I have a friend with Scar's arm tattoo and it's so sick on him lol

Kyle Taggart

Imagine watching this episode and having to wait weeks before the next episode...just such an insane moment of an anime. Father is truly insane.

Things that have come up regarding Truth in previous episodes: It never says taking things from people who go through the door is a punishment, when Ed meets It as a child. Truth calls it a "toll," in exchange for receiving the information behind the door. Equivalent exchange: get the goods, pay the toll. And when Ed asks to see the information again, Truth says he can't, because what he's seen is all he can get for what he's given (his leg). And Envy says Father's attempt to make a door with Gluttony failed, and they don't even know what Truth's real domain looks like.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I'm aware but it the 'price' feels oddly specific and designed as a punishment for what they are seeking rather than a fair and equivalent exchange. Especially as all the punishments are ironic in nature. Which is why Ed is so vehemently against the prospect that what happened was anything but just and fair. There is definitely a connection between the Truth and Father especially in his determination to make a door of his own.
