Finally!

You have no idea how enlightening and amazing the next arc is. It’s fantastic. Yeah, I lost it when Fern said, “Because that’s what Frieren would do.” It’s an anime original line so it really took me by surprise. See you again for season 3 in October 2027!

Can't wait for S3! 😭

Perfect adaptation that elevated the source material in every way. Rather odd choice to turn Gehen's stone bridge into a wooden bridge, though. 🤷‍♂️

I cried like a motherfucker, I underestimated Frieren as a character and didn't even though they would flip the "that's what Himmel the hero would do" into this so casuallly, this show is beyond beautiful

The ending was so epic. Its harder than ever not to read the manga I might fold ngl

I really enjoyed watching Frieren this season and your reactions for this season have been great. I can't wait for Season 3. October 2027 can't come fast enough IMHO. On a side note, I would really like to hear your overall retrospective perspective on your anime journey and what you think about the genre as whole and the stories you've encountered along the way. Of course when you are ready to provide it.

Interesting, why would they do that

This was a beautiful way to end S2! It’s been fun to enjoy this season alongside your reactions! Thank you for your hard work as always. Looking forward to more fun reactions while waiting for S3 of Frieren!

I was sat there like "omg I didn't cry that much and it's the finale! SUCCESS!" and then they hit me with that line and I BROKE!

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I'm SO excited!!! I was so proud of myself for not crying until I got hit with that line and damn - it meant so much to me more than I realised!!

Your great discussion at the end resonates with me. I absolutely love as well how "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" shows us the beauty and importance of those small, connected lives, and why people are so determined to protect their homeland, even when the odds are stacked against them! 🥰 Some people, viewers might think those villagers are just being stubborn, but in a world crawling with demons, that stubbornness is like a shield against the darkness! This is especially evident in perilous regions like the Northern Plateau, where the Demon King's demise has ironically led to increased demon activity and the erosion of civilization. 👿💥😵🏚👿💥😵🏚 Frieren's journey is all about the memories Himmel left behind. The show constantly compares her long elf life to the short human lives, and it suggests that humans "live forever" by leaving their mark on the world;  the homes they build 🏘, the flowers they plant🪏 🏵🪷, and the communities they create 👥️🤝🏻🫂. It's so beautiful! Remember when Stark asks in a previous episode why they don't just move from that monster-filled area⁉️🤔 The villager says the land is full of his family's memories and asks how he could abandon his hometown. That's the heart of it! "Home" isn't just a place; it's about history, family, and those deep emotional connections. Plus, for a farmer living in a feudal system back then, moving out isn't just packing bags. It meant arriving in another lord's territory with nothing, no status, no land, no tools, and no social ties. It was basically a death sentence in disguise! Demons just don't get it. They see humans as livestock, like we see cows or pigs. They can't understand the sentimental value of a "home," only seeing a place to attack and destroy. So, when humans stay and fight for their homes, it's this incredible, brave, and totally human thing to do! It's a way of saying, 🗣"THIS IS WHO WE ARE, AND WE'RE NOT GIVING UP!"💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

Fern: "Because that's what Ms. Frieren would do." I've watched you tear up many times while watching various shows, but I don't believe you've ever been that moved by just a single sentence. We are beginning to fully understand that Frieren is to Fern what Himmel was to Frieren. I can't even fathom the brain ache after sobbing so hard over the finales of Vinland and Frieren. Your brain must have been yelling at you like a toddler having a tantrum, begging you to take a break from the reactions yesterday hahaha! The season may have been shorter than we all hoped, but I believe it's for the best. They likely want to release just enough to allow the characters to breathe and enjoy themselves, while also including some high-stakes fighting episodes.  I bet season 3 in the Golden Land Arc is gonna be sensational! I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER HAHA! 🍿 🧝🏻‍♂️🆚️😈

I can't wait for season 3. Some of the best of Frieren in my opinion. Macht is my favourite villain in fiction.

"That's what Miss Frieren would do" felt like a bag full of bricks hitting me straight in my soul. A warm and wholesome bag of bricks that is c':

Not implying this is their reasoning but having studied architecture I believe a wooden bridge is much more realistic to have been built across a chasm by largely a single person in 200 years. How the bridge connects to the other side and supports its own weight during construction is a huge engineering problem of its own. Building from stone would further complicate it as it's building material that is quite brittle to tension forces. This asks you to construct the bridge in a manner that strains it near exclusively with compression forces. Side note: A stone likely would have collapsed under the strain of the winds generated by the monsters. It's also implied the wind is naturally strong in the region which would further complicated construction. Basically winds would hit the bridge laterally which would generate lots of tension forces.
