I’m very excited for you to unravel Johan’s character as the story progresses! I personally don’t think he’s taunting Tenma but rather he’s trying to let Tenma know what he’s feeling? It’s the impression that I got from his message on the wall and why he let that guy tell his story. Johan did refer to Tenma as a parental figure so he might want someone to understand him.

I personally see it as a taunt. He knows Tenma is pursuing him and it's to keep him invested in what he's doing. It's not uncommon to actual serial killers who'll bait the police with letters or messages to entice them further into the game they're playing.

Another great ep! I interpreted the thing about his mom being a mistress as, he hated the man for making her a mistress and putting her in a bad position because he felt like his mother deserved more, but shame is a good read too 🤔 My first thought was maybe Johan is a hypnosis master, but thinking more realistically about cult control and things like that, there are things like drugs, sleep deprivation, isolation, and other more subtle things that make it easier to control vulnerable people...
