Great reaction Seriously, your knack for noticing things is just awesome! I'm constantly impressed. You spotted Shinobu wearing her sister's kimono right away 👘, that's some seriously keen eyesight! 👏 It's amazing how, even with all the deep pain and legitimate anger she has towards demons, Shinobu is still such a hero. As you nicely explained, she's honoring her deceased sister's absolute biggest wish: for humans and demons to live together peacefully.  😈😈🆒️👥️👥️ It really shows how much she commits in that idea of friendship, choosing it over all the bitterness. And that simple line, "I must carry on it on [...] but now, I am a bit exhausted"? It’s like a direct peek into her heart. It perfectly nails that inner struggle, balancing her disappointment and rage at what demons have done with that persistent hope for harmony her sister planted in her. Seeing her open up to Tanjiro is really inspiring, don't you think?  🧻🥹 They just connect on this level of empathy and understanding. Together, they're really pushing a message of hope and compassion. I’ve got a good feeling that with their connection and everything they're doing, they're going to make a real positive difference, Sophie. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Oh one last thing. Tanjiro might need a new crush because Shinobu is, let’s say, a bit too seasoned for his romantic taste. I think we should hope someone who isn’t old enough to be his... ahem... older sister ahah!  🤭

One thing I truly love about Demon Slayer is that things take time. Tanjiro spent years training, not mastering a difficult technique right away. Their injuries need time to recover, and rather than skipping it, hand waving, or coming up with a plot reason that they suddenly recover immediately (all very common in other anime), we actually examine what that process is like and how it affects their characters. It really makes the story feel more believable to me, and it makes their efforts/gains feel earned. Side note: there was a little bit of foreshadowing about Shinobu's story at the beginning of this episode. Zenitsu noticed something off about her voice. Something unnerving. He'd never heard anything like it before. He just didnt connect the dots/ask her directly like Tanjiro did!

It gives more context to how Shinobu was with Rui's "sister", how she could gleefully offer torture in exchange for friendship - she knows they won't agree to that, and attack, giving her an excuse to kill them whilst still keeping up the pretence of peace. She WANTS to be able to honour her sisters wish, but can only bring herself to pay it lipservice. Now she knows Tanjiro is pursuing this in earnest, she feels like she is no longer burdened by having to begrudgingly try.

I think I should mention, though, that all the Hashira expect for Muichiro (the Mist Hashira) are adults between 18-30 while Tanjiro’s friend circle are all 16 and under 😅

Im only like 2 min into the reaction but i forgot to say it last ep so... The thing with the Masters voice is that is like very gentle and nice, when Tanjiro is describing it he says "fuwa fuwa" which is like fluffy, nice, light, something like that? Im pretty sure its the same expression Inosuke used to describe when the old lady from the wisteria house spoke to him and at the mountain entrance when Tanjiro said he trusted him or something like that (if theres someone who can explain better please do bc i dont know if did it correctly ty)

Ara ara, my favorite Shinobu episode is here! It will be a while before you get the full story of the Kocho sisters. But among the Hashira I would say this one is my favorite.

Spot on! There's something super magnetic about characters like the Master from Demon Slayer and Erwin Smith from Attack on Titan : the way they talk just commands your attention and makes everyone around them totally respect and admire them. It leaves you thinking about it long after. We can totally see why the Hashira look up to the Master so much; it's not just because he's the boss, but how he talks to them. He's got this incredible chill vibe, and the wisdom just oozes from his words and tone. It creates this whole atmosphere where you just know you can trust him and feel this deep sense of awe. Tanjiro also feels this powerful influence in his interactions with the Master. 🗣🧑🏽

Wonderful discussion on Shinobu’s character! A lot of people don’t understand that Shinobu’s putting on a facade to hide her true feelings and it’s when she’s interacting with Tanjiro that she can admit that she’s feeling exhausted in keeping up her true feelings hidden in order to make her sister’s wish come true. She’s such a great character and I’m glad you resonated with her.

I forget that Murata is a sweet character and I hate his guts for no reason at all. I forgot that we were going to see him in this episode, so it was funny when your face lighted up and mine instantly got irritated by seeing him 😆 when I catch you Murata 😾
