Despite the story tackling darker topics, I love that one of the core messages of the story is: tomorrow will be a good day. Dieter is a precious boy and I’m glad he managed to escape an abusive life. Going on the run with Tenma is definitely better than staying with that horrible man.

It's incredibly upsetting when you see children being hurt, especially when the person causing the harm is supposed to be a protector. 🤬 It's like a punch to the gut when someone puts on a good-guy act in public but is actually mistreating a child behind closed doors. That whole scenario with Dieter is a perfect, and horrifying, example of grooming or predatory masking. It's that specific kind of betrayal that really grinds my gears too, when someone builds up a "good person" image just to get close to vulnerable kids and throw everyone off the scent. It's a really sneaky and manipulative tactic, and it can leave such deep wounds, not just physically but especially psychologically on the child who is victimized. I should not say this but if Johan ends up taking care of this character, I would be pleased.
