Awesome new series this season, i was very into its dub personally since the british accents by several characters especially Qilfrey felt so right and it felt nicely fitting for the european fairy tale sorta setting

Unholy

Woo exciting to see another show that is currently airing and been getting attention. Really enjoying what's been shown so far

Lustful~Mirage

Always exciting for a new series for Sophie to react❤️ When I saw footage of this I was like "oh yeah, this is a Sophie anime" ❤️😆

Nina

I personally love the dub for this, I usually always prefer sub! + before I learned to remember Qifreys name, I just always said "Magic Gojo" as i referred to him lol!

Scarmath

There's a mix of British and American accents in the dub, and I *think* they are trying to use it to indicate either a regional difference or a rural/urban difference.

Ethan Tarr

Qifrey is voiced by the great Natsuki Hanae, one of the more prolific seiyuu of the last 15 years. I was wondering if you might recognize him, since he's also Tanjiro in Demon Slayer.

Sacha

Qifrey is pronounced like KEY FREE. Also soooo excited for you to cover this one! This has been my hyper fixation every week and I know I’m going straight to the manga as soon as the season ends. Honestly it’s been hard not to do that already..

Mina E.D

I just learned this and my mind was blown

Omfg I'm so happy you're watching this!!! It'll be so fun to react more in real time and far less risk of spoilers hehe. It looks so cute but it's soooo action packed

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I struggle a lot with picking up voices because of my hearing impairment so unfortunately I'll never click who the voice actors are haha! :')

Axel

The dub uses an interesting mix of British Isles' accents and American accents. I see it as an choice in fictional regions. I watch the show in sub so I haven't analyzed it too much. It sounds like a good dub though. Unless you can't suspend disbelief. Great show. I've been looking forward to this one.

the anime mom haircut strikes again

I call Qifrey "Loli Gojo", the animation and theme of turning pages reminds me of Kingdom Hearts, Romancing Saga Minstrels Song, Pandora Hearts and Page meister also comes to mind and a love me some fantasy.

Amazing, I havent watched this one, but heard amazing things from it. So well, it seems I am now going to apply the Monster treatment with this one: Watching it along Sophie. Gorgeous first episode, it gives a very Frieren kinda vibes but like, a little bit more "kid's book" style(? Loved it, I will give it my all to not watch it ahead of you to keep the tradition going.

Peaches

"Coco! What spell did you draw?!" Qifrey says calmly.

Cirac1

Aaah the holy trinity of cozy fantasy anime is complete! Frieren, Delicious in Dungeon and Witch Hat Atelier!

kplrn

personally, i really love the English dub coz the main cast have such varying European accents (except for Coco). i watch it in both XD hope you continue watching it in EN dub, too (or at least watch bits from there). but the JP cast is, of course, amazing (my all time favourite VA, Junichi Suwabe, voice of Sukuna, being there and all) in any case, i am very glad to see you start this story because i believe there's so much there you can discuss. i am excited to hear your thoughts.

WondrousMay

Woohoo!! I’m very glad you enjoyed the first episode! Like I said before, I’m looking forward to your reactions to this show because it’s a fantastic story so far! The animation is really pretty too. I’m excited for you to meet the other characters too.

Krul

"Whimsical" has always been one of my favorite words. And, since the time the first trailer for this anime came out, it has been the first word that comes to my mind while watching it. Such an amazing animation since the first episode. I can't wait for you to watch some of the later episodes when the animation gets even more beautiful. Also, comparisons with FMAB and its use of circles in its magic system has been all over the place, but I like the contrast of WHA that feels more magical and artistic, compared with FMAB that feels more scientific.

Krul

By the way, it is heavily speculated that this may be a 2-cour season (like Frieren's was), but it is not confirmed if that will be the case and (if that is the case) if it would be back-to-back

HAL

there has been an entire evolution of different gojo versions

Tay

I just started this series like a week or so ago because I heard so much about it and ultimately a mutual on Insta convinced me to start it... and I am so glad I did! Its so so so pretty and I really love the direction its going!!

Kita

So Witch Hat Atelier was written before Jujutsu Kaisen - you didn’t call him a Gojo look alike - thank you - but many people have but Quifrey came first. Also the manga is renowned for its art, if you get a chance please read it after watching the anime. I want to, I read just the first couple of chapters. They really tried to capture the manga beauty but still people say the Manga’s art is better, which I don’t hear that often! Happy to watch this with you :) (I’ll have to catch your jujutsu kaisen reaction at some point too. I stopped watching that show mid 2nd season - may or may not continue, still thinking about it)

Leah Henderson

I commented on how pretty the animation is throughout my first watch of this episode as well! I love the music, too, and it's such a neat twist on the concept of magic existing in the world. Also, Coco's voice actress had me in tears when her mom was consumed by that spell. One episode in and I will destroy anyone who harms a hair on her precious head! XD

Mason TerHorst

So it’s actually not set in Europe, it’s based in a fictional world and their accents are to imply that Coco and those in her village are from a different region than Quifrey and those from his region. Once we meet the rest of the cast this will become more obvious, the dub VAs are extremely good imo and a lot of thought was put into the voice casting for the characters. I’ve been watching both bc they are both great, but I definitely prefer the dub bc the translation for it so far tends to be a bit more accurate to what I read in the manga for most scenes and I like that I can hear the dialogue and can appreciate the characters regional variety just by hearing them and I can focus my eyes on the gorgeous animation and the details of what’s happening on screen while my ears do all the work for knowing what they are saying.

Seryu Ubiquitous

Now that i watched the Anime for myself i can finally enjoy your reaction. Oh my... it could be just a cute and wholesome anime with an absolutly adorable protagonist. awawa, her reactions to the first magic were so cute. But of course it cant just be a cute and heartwarming anime. it needs its share of pain and suffering... :( but anyways, really looking forward to your reaction!

"What if she draws something, but doesn't know what she's drawing?" 😅😂 "Oh Fuck, she's gonna draw something from this book, isn't she?" 😅😂
