QIFREY: **takes his eyes off the girls for one millisecond** THE GIRLS: **instantly get themselves in mortal peril**

Ethan Tarr

At 17:52 you can see the brimmed cap in the alley.

32:38 One of my favorite two-page spreads in the manga. The brimmed caps' drip is immaculate.

Yeah like you said you can make arguments for all the kids here...Coco is impulsive, and chasing a stranger down a maze of alleys is not the best idea. (By the way, did you notice 23:37 when Coco stopped at a crossroads; to follow the Brimmed Cap down the dark path, or turn to the path with light. And she chose the dark path. Just thought that was some interesting symbolism, and possible foreshadowing?) And while Agott's words went too far in my opinion, her lashing out was understandable. They are young kids in a literal life or death situation, they are all stressed out and on edge, of course that would be extremely frustrating to the point she'd explode. Sigh...poor Coco. I have faith in her though. Next episode is a great one ✨

omggggg I love the whole look :D also I missed that post credit too thanks hahaha

Well I did mention the possibility of her being pushed down due to the actions of others regarding her as an outsider but I don't think it's so much foreshadowing that Coco will go that way or have interest. More symbolic in the sense that the pursuit of the Brimmed Cap brings nothing but pain and suffering as their intentions are chaos and disruption.

Ah yes! Easily missed as I was focusing on Coco's animation plus my eyesight is shit at the best of times haha!

Could be! I took it as that, plus maybe something to think about for Coco's future path and decisions (I'm an anime only, so I'm just speculating as well) In her first test, she deliberated VERY briefly about drawing on her feet (something forbidden, yet an easier choice) but found her own way instead. She seems to be their target, so was likely supposed to be the only one trapped in this place, alone. Maybe they want to see what solutions she'd come up with in this kind of scenario, if she would be backed into a corner. She is still so new to magic and this world, probably the easiest to "mold". Like you mentioned, the more Agott or others may push her away, the more likely she might be to turn to someone who would accept her (even if it's these people). Dunno! Something I'm thinking about.

You were right about people’s reaction to Agott in this episode. They were especially harsh with her :( What Agott said was out of line but I’m glad that you keep pointing out that they’re still children and how the others were raised with knowledge of magic while Coco is new to all of this. It isn’t fair to put all the blame on Coco so it was sad to see her looking so forlorn. I think the current system of magic creates a barrier between witches and ‘ordinary people’. Those who can use it may feel like they’re more special than those who can’t so this causes a sort of class divide.

People being a little harsh towards Agott, on the one hand, feels very justified. At this point she very much comes off as a pretentious and rude little shit. I can appreciate that Sophie gives her some grace, though, especially because she is still a kid.
