Im not ready for the next ep, even though I've watched it before 😭 Rengoku 🥺 Also, the willpower you have to not just binge and watch the next ep straight away

Vivasvan Gautam

As much as I love the OSTs of Demon Slayer, the sound designers are top-class experts in using silence as well. Before the Rengoku v Akaza battle starts and at the end of the episode, I find silence almost unbearable. I have to skip those parts because I can't physically sit with it. I feel like I am being dragged into the situation and standing right beside Rengoku. I would most certainly feel blank, frozen when faced with an inescapable situation from which I certainly know that I can't come out alive, yet Rengoku is able to fight, so much so that one of his attack forms resembles a lion. Lions don't usually feel flight, freeze, or fawn responses; they instinctively fight when faced with danger.

We finally get to see the power level of an Upper Rank; your speechlessness said it all 😂 we were so awed by the ease in which Giyuu took out a Lower Rank like nothing, but now.....we see even a skilled Hashira is struggling. And, Akaza is kindof toying around with him, too, he's enjoying the thrill of the fight. Hugs and tissues in advance for the next one 🧡

What an AWFUL cliffhanger. This is my first time watching the episode for Mugen Train and the episode ending here is debilitating. Can't wait for the next one!

Because I knew I'd give myself a tension headache from all the crying so I noped out hahaha :')

This episedo was like 5 minutes... I swear, like what the hell?! Whole week before and i still won't be ready for the next one ! HE IS HEEEEERE!!! Despite Akaza being the bad guy, i still like him a lot. He might as well be my top 3 or top 5 characters so far (thought i only finished season 2 as of now). He is so bloody cool first of all, second he is a straight up guy, no bs from him like from other demons, and he is here for the thrill of the game. He likes to fight and loves martial arts. He has really bad morals as all demons - but he has respect towards Rengoku, and other martial artist, and i love antagonist who can show that respect, who is also a great fighter and loves the fight. So so far i would rank characters like this 1. CrazyBoar,my boy Inosuke. 2. Of course Rengoku! 3. Tanjiro 4. Akaza 5. Sleeping Beauty 😴 and 6. Nezuko. But this is only if i must do a list... Because many i adore equally:)

When a heavily wounded Tanjiro states, "I need to survive, otherwise that guy will become a murderer," we see who he truly is at his core as you mentionned. Rather than focusing on his own pain, his only fear is the trauma his attacker would face. It’s a level of radical kindness that cements him as one of the most empathetic protagonists you will ever meet in anime. But imagine having empathy for Kibutsuji Muzan, that would be a whole different ball game hahaha! It would take an insane amount of compassion to feel anything for this ruthless and merciless villain😈, right? Just thinking about it is wild!😅

It is so frustrating that an upper moon demon can endlessly regenerate from fatal blows in seconds. Rengoku landed multiple attacks that should have obliterated Akaza, but that instant healing completely breaks the game. It just feels like cheating when our human slayers bleed out🤕🩸, while an upper moon effortlessly patch themselves up like it’s nothing. It’s infuriating that Rengoku pushes himself to the absolute limit, dealing devastating, flesh-shredding wounds that should have ended the fight. And what does the demon do? Just shrugs it off! Akaza gets limbs hacked off and literally heals them faster than we can blink.😈 THIS IS PURE CHEATING! 🤨👎

Hi Sophie! Oh, I forgot how cruel this clifhanger is! Rengoku is my favorite so I wish you were right, and that the next episode didn't exist. I loved your discussion about the differences between the Demon Slayer Corps and Muzan's Twelves Moon. On a superficial level, they seem to work the same, with strengh being the most important thing for climbing the rank. Except strengh is not the requirement to become a Hashira, it's a byproduct to the real requirement! To become a Hashira, one must either defeat a member of the Twelve Demon Moons, or slay 50 demons. That's why there is so little rivalry in the Corps. The members aren't rewarded for fighting each other like Muzan does, which it's why they can all have the same goal: protecting humanity! Once again, thank you for sharing your reaction and insight with us! Can't wait for the next episode (prepare tissues for this one!) <3

Mei

You're so amazing for being able to eloquently discuss it all right after watching the episode! You finally get to meet my favorite demon hehe so excited for you to know more about him. 🥺 For now gotta brace myself for your reaction for the next episode.

st4rmin

So excited to see the next episode ! I absolutely love how they mixed Akaza and Rengoku's themes to create the OST when they fight, it's so epic and iconic. And Akaza has been my fav demon ever since I first saw him here despite him being a little asshole lmao

Mina E.D

Akaza's entrance is so chill inducing

I feel you on ending the season here...I have it on my calendar to watch the final Mugen Train episode on Monday, and I actually have a sense of dread about it. T_T The end scene just about sent me. I know we're in for a sad time when there's no fun Taisho Secret!

Citrine

Yep the waterworks come early! What a cliffhanger, I completely forgot about it since it had been so long since I watched the episodes of the Mugen Train. I think it super interesting that some demons have a specific theme that informs their character. For Rui it was family, and we can see with Akaza that its strength. They use those ideals that they think is important to get their way, which I think is super interesting. Another great reactions, get prepared for Mugen Train’s finale!

Buzzard

Geez Louise, Sophie. Talk about Sacrifice! You're doing some Hashira level reviewing here, knowingly setting yourself up for tears, a migraine and depression. And all for us lowly fans. 🥺 I am in awe.

Mickael Landry

You need to place an order for a truckload of Kleenex by Monday; you'll require a substantial amount of them, Leah.🚚🧻 🥹

Maristella

A lot of the demons have a reverence/ fear type relationship with Muzan. It’s what Akaza means when he says that you have to be ‘chosen.’ Like chosen by Muzan. Anyway, I too absolutely love Kyojuro’s take as well. It’s so beautiful to hear him say just how important life is and how even living for a short time is beautiful.

WondrousMay

We’ll need an emotional support group hug for this episode and the next 🫂🫂🫂

Nuclear Boarhead

It was a really bold choice for them to end the mugen train arc on this episode and then just skip ahead to the next arc and Rengoku is just living on a farm upstate...
