We’re finally seeing how Johan subtly manipulates people into doing what he wants. It’s eerily and crafty but this also makes him an even more compelling character! Also loved how you pointed out the parallels between Richard wanting to see his daughter and Karl wanting to reconnect with his father. It’s really good writing in my opinion!

It's an interesting recurrence in Monster how foster parents desire their adopted kid's approval. Happened with the Fortners, then the crooked cop that ended up saving Nina, and now Karl's foster parents.
