What a blessed day! Though I hope you can rest this week and that you'll take a real vacation soon! Fun fact: wisteria is poisonous to humans too! Shinobu, with her pharmaceutical background, and Tengen and his wives, being shinobis, are the only ones who can use it safely against demons. The talk between Tengen and Gyutaro is fascinating because Tengen is right and wrong. The siblings really have no understanding of how's the world work outside of the district. But Tengen has only met this set of Hashiras. And the Master already told us that they're the strongest since the First Breathing swordmen of the feudal era. So Gyutaro is also right and Tengen is stronger than the Hashiras he has killed. Thank you for this wonderful reaction, Sophie <3

Not a spoiler, extras from Manga. Not only did tengen lose his brothers at a young age, but he directly killed some of them not knowing. One of his trainings was to put on a disguise and kill a target, only later learning the targets were his brothers doing the same training, disguised and killing. This has led tengen to believing no matter what he does, hes going to hell.

Yeah this arc is PHENOMONAL, I remember when the episodes were coming out. And yeah, the cliffhangers are foul hahaha. I love the discussion about Tengen essentially humbling himself to that compliment. He is wonderful, and my 3rd favorite. Also maybe you've been told this already, but supposedly Tengen and Rengoku were besties (according to the manga) which; makes all these little moments with them so sweet. I also love that scene with Hinatsaru pulling up the giant kunai gun; that was insane 🤣 she knew that some of them could hit Tengen, but they're shinobi, and used to fighting like this for a mission. His wives are so cool. My favorite part was that dialogue between Daki/Gyutaro and Zenitsu...i dunno it just always gives me chills. And man, the TEAMWORK look how far our boys have come from season 1 😭 also ngl, I adore Zenitsu and his silliness, but seeing him like this and speaking so seriously is something else. I love it. I hope you have a nice break!

You might be the first person to describe Tengen as "humble." Also, the polygamy aspect of the Tengen's life suddenly takes on new meaning when you see how important it is to the Shinobi to produce heirs, since their children and wives are killed so frequently. Their society is not a healthy one.

Really great discussions on Tengen and Daki’s characters! You probably heard this a lot but it’s just so refreshing to see a reactor like you analyze and think deeply about the characters and story while also being in awe of the action/animation. It makes me appreciate this story even more! I can’t wait for you to know more about Daki and Gyutaro’s backstory!
