The animosity between Tanjiro and Sanemi is so strong that they invented the restraining order over it. By the way, just to clarify, in the manga there's even less content about HT. It's at this point in the series that it starts to show that the author ended it earlier than they were originally intending. Maybe the anime could've done a few more episodes but also I think that they kinda knew their audience, because there's a lot of people that complain about Hashira Training as it is since it's not really action packed and it's more focused on fleshing out characters. I am simultaneously disappointed and glad about that bc I dread what the comments on the "filler" would've been. I was also dreading the moment you were going to realize some of your expectations were going to be slightly crushed. Like with the Sanemi and Genya reunion, I remember you were really happy about it bc you didn't expect Sanemi to be THIS unstable (I don't think anybody did). But also the realization that there's not enough space in what's left of the show to make room for all the development you were hoping for. I remember mine, I was really sad. It's still is a pretty good story but when you love the characters so much and wanted to see them in different situations and how different combinations interact a little more. Really excited for the next episode! I don't think it's ever directly stated but I have a theory on why Gyomei took Genya in specifically and I really want to see if you agree with me. Also, I hear you about Mitsuri! Justice for her!

As an older sister, I'm not gonna lie. I can relate to Sanemi. If my younger brother didn't have a breathing technique and was eating demons to be on equal footing in a battle, I'd crash out too. I do think he's being cruel to be kind, but also he might just not know how to process any of that, he did have to kill his own mother and lost all of his siblings in the process, even if Genya did not mean to call him a murder, I imagine that feeling stays for a while. I feel for both of them though, and I want them to reunite so badly. They're all they have, also great reaction as always c:

Yeah I think that's where my empathy for him comes in because I'm also an older sister to 2 younger brothers and I know I'd be pissed if they just kept pursuing something that was dangerous after I tried to protect them!

Mitsuri is so overlooked :( Half her battle in S3 happened off screen and then we barely get any time with her before moving onto 2 other Hashira. I wish it was fleshed out more and each Hashira got their own dedicated episode :(

Hey Sophie! Loving the reactions as always! I really appreciated your nuanced take on Sanemi. It’s so easy to just write him off as a pure bad guy; especially after he tried to gouge Genya’s eyes out for demon-eating, but your theory could easily be the true underlying motivation. 🤔 In that scenario, he would still love Genya fiercely, but his trauma and desire to keep his last surviving relative safe would manifest in the most toxic, extreme way possible. He would think that if he makes Genya hate him or renders him unable to fight, Genya would finally walk away from this meat grinder of a job. It highlights one of Demon Slayer's biggest strengths: characters could rarely be as simple as they appear on the surface. Gotoge (the author 📓✏️) loves building initial impressions that would turn out to be completely different once you peel back the layers. 🎭 This anime is so good at that trope where nothing would ever be quite what it seems at first glance, especially when it comes to Hashira and their motivations. Your reading of the situation would make total sense and fit seamlessly into the show's storytelling style, can't wait for your next video!
