I totally agree with you about Yuri. It'd be easy to write him off as a weirdo without any context, but when you know his and Yor's backstory, it makes perfect sense that he would have developed an unhealthy attachment to his older sister who was also his mother figure! Many such cases in the real world, no doubt!

To be fair, Jinshi and Maomao did lock lips once, even though it was CPR after the waterfall jump.👄 But this show is a verrryy slow burn, no doubt about it. Loid can come off as overly paranoid sometimes, but all the characters have their personal quirks exaggerated for comedic effect. Sometimes to the point of slapstick.

Thank you for your wonderful discussion about Yuri! People tend to be dismissive of him due to his obsession with Yor but I think his behaviour is understandable when all he had growing up was Yor. Now Yor’s finally moving forward with her new family so Yuri feels that he’s being left behind and not understanding that she just has more people to love. I’m glad you understood Loid’s POV about bugging and testing Yor but also acknowledging that it was a bit too much. He is a spy after all. I liked that he felt guilty about it because it meant that he has genuine feelings for Yor.
