Bro Jinshi is fighting for his life man 😂

Buzzard

Damn, Jinshi. Talk about an embarrassment of riches.😏 Back in season 1, the blue roses episode, Maomao asks Jinshi if there is a new hallucinogen and Jinshi fires back that it would be the ruin of the country. Is that some long range foreshadowing or what!!

My favorite part of this entire episode was Gaoshun in the corner 🤣 i was dying, he is so done with these two lmao MaoMao our gaslight queen. One wall of truth crumbles down and she reinforces it with another, sigh. I'm here for the slow burn too, I am under no delusions this relationship is going to come easily 😂 I love it. Ooooo i love the thoughts about potential drug involvement in this...a different type of "poison". I'm leaning towards that as opposed to just handing out this stuff that kills people. Would build more reliance on this mysterious figure. But we shall see! I am very interested in the Bi Clan as well, I'm sure they will become prominent this season. The child especially has an interesting look compared to the rest of the clan, perhaps there's something there. Ah its fun watching a series with other people like this where neither of us know what's going to happen ☺️ enjoy your weekend next week!

7:50 even though she's not evil, that was the story she wanted to spread. "The evil Shi clan tried to rise up and usurp the royal family, but the younger brother destroyed those who sought to disturb the peace and saved the empire." Quite like those crafty tanukis. I'm loving the end analysis. I can't say why, it just makes me smile to see a reactor who is actually so abservant to the story. 42:12 Rikusan. He appeared once without speaking roles in season 1, and then he appeared at the end of season 2. He is one of Lakan's top soldiers.

Well I wouldn't jump the gun. There's no confirmation as to what it is or what it does. We've seen it being given but not the reaction that it creates. This also seems to be outside of the Li Empire We can't really say that it's long range foreshadowing when we have no idea what it is :) I also don't remember that conversation happening at all in the Blue Roses episode? Can you time stamp so I can nosy? Edit: I've been through that entire episode and I can't find any mention of a Hallucinogen or Jinshi says "it would be the ruin of the country"?

4:48 Maomoa mentions a new hallucinogen and Jinshi follows up with that would ruin the whole nation. :3

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Yeah, so it's a comment in jest. When Jinshi says "that would destroy the entire nation" it's in reference to this idea that high-ranking officials could be getting high enough on a new substance to hallucinate 'blue roses'. I don't believe it's long form foreshadowing considering the primary plot so far isn't centred around any hallucinogens. Opium isn't a hallucinogen - it's a narcotic / opioid. Which is why it's considering both a medicine and poison. So if they're touching on the opium crisis that China experienced, then that comment in S1 Ep 22 wouldn't apply but rather is just an in-character gag emphasising their dynamic. Maomao as the mad scientist desperate to try new product and Jinshi being exasperated with her haha!

Oh my! I never expected so much in the way of replies. I was sleep deprived and punchy and just joking around when I typed it. Thank you for taking the time and effort to answer. You're the best!😊

Loving your theories about the West and the discussion about the science/ spiritual aspect of the story! It’s very interesting!!! Very excited to see where the story will go from here.

Gaoshun in the corner was my favorite, too! Utterly wrecked me, I couldn't breathe XD
