THE TIME HAS COME, IT'S THE BEGINNING OF THE END

Mina E.D

Okay okay here we go see y'all next weekend 🔥🔥

Leah Henderson

This was the episode where I realized I'll never be able to pick a favorite Hashira...I love too many of them!

Clark Kent

The traitor selfish kid is Kaigaku, the same Zenitsu's senior that trained with his grandpa.

Nerf Or Nothing

On Sanemi not asking Giyu what he meant by " we are not the same " they did ask for clarification but he walked off without responding, if I remember correctly. Giyu definitely doesn't do himself any favours.

wow crazy timing, i just finished the episode 6 reaction! I'm so excited to see the next episode! and especially the movie of course! I also have a soft spot for Sanemi that I can't really explain. I think it's because he seems so pained, I mean he's so angry all the time and he's so walled off. He has some gentle interests and likes and he was such a responsible and caring older brother when he was little. I definitely think killing his mom and losing everyone except Genya broke something in him. And even just at first sight, you can't miss the sheer amount of scars, unlike any of the other hashira.

Mateo_Tano

Maybe I'm alone on this one but the ending is such a masterclass in visual storytelling. To show Muzan slowly walking in the cruel night killing along his way just to connect it all to the finale of this episode... It was showing us the climax, Muzan approaching Ubuyashiki. God I love this last two episodes

2026-10-15 01:00 This felt like the closing of the circle for Tanjiro in regard for being acknowledged . Its easy this deep into the series to forget that Tanjiro was a kid selling charcoal and fighting his first demon with a hatchet. Not just acknowledgement as a fighter or generous soul or as a new dawn for Demon Slayers. It was an acknowledgement that as a traumatizes child even his flaws that he refused to hide from could not tarnish the strength of his character. In fact they showed how he was stronger for them. That he was a good person worthy of the praise others gave him. Admittng that to oneself is hard. Also the Zenitsu locked in moment gave me chills

They're peak episodes

The ending is THE best within Demon Slayer (not counting the movie cause... Lisa)

Nerf Or Nothing

And when I realised the delays meant you were gonna wait a week for the season 4 finale I count help laugh. Mother of all cliff hangers!

A popular and fun fan theory after the episode aired (see picture) suggested the smoke surrounding Muzan’s entrance was caused by Wisteria incense; claiming his ultra-fast regeneration was burning through the poison's corrosive effects in real time. But it hits a few major lore roadblocks upon closer look. First, Wisteria isn't a corrosive acid that burns demon skin on contact; it acts as an internal neurotoxin that paralyzes and degrades cells from within (like Shinobu’s poisons). Plus, Muzan actively despises Wisteria because it weakens demon power, so he’d never willingly chill in a room filled with concentrated incense. The smoke/steam pouring off him is actually canon ultra-rapid regeneration. High-level demons emit intense steam whenever their body heat and cellular turnover hit overdrive to purge toxins or regrow flesh in milliseconds. It’s a visual flex of his insane biological power, not a chemical reaction! 😈🩸⚡

😭that over the top bollywood walk

Anish Shil

Here he comes, strutting and moonwalking his way to the Ubuyashiki residence. Hee-hee!!!

Mr. Himejima’s aura isn’t talked about enough he’s so cool. I never even thought about the connection between Himejima and Sanemi/Genya backstory, that’s a good catch. So excited we’re here but so sad to see it end

Sophie's totally the first one to point this out! Everyone on YouTube thinks Genya's whole attitude shift is all because of Tanjiro.

Omg I am so glad you think more or less the same as me about Gyomei seeing Genya as Sayo and Sanemi as himself! I rarely see people comment on the parallels there. Here's a theory I wrote (before seeing your reaction, so sorry for the repetitiveness bc there's some parts you already said): If you think about it Gyomei should be pretty averse to working with children again, especially when his pupils would be fighting demons. So why did he take Genya in as his student? He's bad at teaching and even if he clearly doesn't want to hold it against them, that first demon encounter definitely changed his perspective on all children's inherent behavior for the worse, he thinks that they're all ungrateful/selfish brats but in nicer words. Most importantly, you would think he wouldn't want to risk having any more children dying under his care, considering his backstory. But he took Genya in. Gyomei definitely considers teenagers his age as kids and Genya is famously not very talented by demon slayer corps standards. So why take that chance after all that specific trauma? If Genya were to ever die, it'd be like Shinobu losing Kanao or rather like if Nezuko were to be grabbed by demons right now. Urokodaki has a history of losing his children, it's why he gave Tanjiro an almost impossible task to complete before he headed to the final selection, imagine how devastating it would be if Tanjiro had died or if he lost Nezuko. Like, really devastating, especially because he has trauma associated with it. I think Gyomei took Genya in because he reminded him of Sayo. He said something to Sanemi that was similar to what Sayo said about him and he probably came to know in some way that Genya wanted to apologize. So he took him in so Sanemi could hear the words he himself wanted so very badly to hear.

Mina E.D

Tbf we didn't really get to see Gyomei and Genya interact at all. We had to hear about it from Genya this season, and then I think only at the end of Mugen Train did we very briefly get to see Gyomei and Genya chilling together when they got the news about Rengoku.

Buzzard

Oh yeah! I think you're really gonna love the back and forth dialog next episode.

Gpinko

Ah I never thought about it before but you’re right, Sanemei/Gyomei do have similar backstories and trauma. And your thoughts on why he took in Genya totally make sense. I’m glad Genya had a mentor figure there for him, even though he still uses unconventional means. I mean, hey, if it helps him survive…😂 Ah, that moment with Zenitsu….weve never seen him like that before. Curious your thoughts on that. But I suppose there’s not much time left to theorize haha OMG OMG OMG we’re here 🤩 Muzan literally just invited himself in HI HELLO WELL i hope you feel better soon! But enjoy your time to rest, and get ready for next week! The movie is fantastic, definitely pause whenever you need to and digest any info, it’s pretty long. Last Demon Slayer week 😩 and then you’ll be waiting like the rest of us aha

That was a great parallel you drew between Sanemi-Genya and Himejima and Sayo. I never put that together, but that makes his story so much more meaningful. A minor point: When Tanjiro was passing out from dehydration ("dying") and thinking of people, he was hoping people who were actually present would notice his distress and bring him water. Hence not thinking of Nezuko. Also, there's an easter egg that is all but impossible to pick up on the first watch: the kid who betrayed Himejima in that flashback has a distinctive necklace and hair cut. We've actually seen that kid in a different character's flashback in an earlier season. Not sure if you'd want me to say more on that, but it's an interesting connection.

I can’t believe we’re finally here!!! I love Gyomei so much, the transition of petting Tanjiro’s head to Sayo broke me :’) One detail I love about this outro is the imagery of Muzan stepping on six berries (Kamado Family not including Tanjiro that night) with only one remaining not fully crushed (Nezuko) all callbacks to their family make me so proud of how far the siblings have come

DrSophieDarlingReacts

How are we supposed to remember that though?! That was all the way back in S1 :')

Mina E.D

LOLLLL you got it then 😌

Nerf Or Nothing

Honestly I think they assumed people woulf have rematches earlier seasons as opposed to watching all the way to the first movie in one big marathon. A little oversight to be sure

Wyld89

Ya, that's actually the thing I was hinting at in my comment. Really impossible to pick up on on a first watch

Wsgyan

Oh btw sayo the little 4 yo girls gyomei protected, it was explained by the author that she actually meant to talk about the demon and she was misunderstood and I believe it’s said that she wanted to come apologize but couldn’t

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Well as anime only we don't know this so I can only discuss the information that I have access too 😊

Wsgyan

Yeah it’s not stated anywhere in the manga it’s what the author said themselves to clarify things !

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Ah that's so frustrating haha! I hate when things are clarified outside of the story instead of dealt with 😭
