Accepting that this week is a write off with the flu and the wedding.

Good news is that I have more time next week to get both S4 finale and Infinity Castle done without having to space it out.

Apothecary Diaries will be back to back on Friday so 3 x 3 & 3 x 4!

Oh is that more Fate I see. Is it going to be a standard from now on? In that case I still really think you should've started with Zero, I don't know why some fans think you should start with UBW. Imho the anime version of UBW is very much meant to be seen after having seen Zero and with knowledge of the events and characters in it.

It's not a standard. It was requested by Jacob in Founding Titan to continue the next 4 episodes which I'm doing so after he had previously requested the first 3 episodes. Then the next 3 weeks are all movies. It's not a consistent show I'm reacting to. Jacob wanted UBW and he paid for that request so that's his obligation and not up to anyone else to determine :) If Fate doesn't get requested again then there'd be no more episodes. I made an exception for it because I enjoyed the first 3 episodes and it's a relatively short series but after it's finished all future requests will be movies.

Ah ok, gotcha. Fun either way, Fate has become one of my favorite franchises so always looking forward to more people being introduced to it. Thank you Jacob lol. Glad to hear you enjoyed it, I think you really would like it in general so here's hoping it really does return in full somewhere in the future :)

Hi Sophie! I have no idea if this is the right place for show recommendations, but if you're looking for another long-form, live-action series giiiven your literature background, I would LOVE to recommend Hannibal. It's technically a psychological crime thriller, but I think it's one of those rare television series that really rewards the same kind of close reading you'd give to a literary text. Its Gothic influences combined with its intertextuality, symbolism, and its exploration of esthetics, morality, and identity offer so much to unpack. The relationship of two main characters is interesting as fuck, especially from a literary point of view. What I love most is how much of the storytelling is done through metaphor and subtext and not direct exposition. Even the cinematography seems an extension of the writing. I don't want to spoil anything because I think that the experience is much better if you go in with little knowledge of it, but I'd be very curious to hear your take on it especially from someone with your academic background. All three seasons just returned to Netflix, too! but it can be very graphic, though the violence is often displayed in a deliberately artistic, almost aesthetic way. I think you would really get a lot out of analyzing this one! In my opinion, it's one of the most underrated gems out there!
