It’s 2:00am where I am. I have no regrets for what I’m about to do.

^^

OMG HERE WE GO

Citrine

It’s 10 pm and I got midterms tomorrow but REACTION MORE IMPORTANT /jest /srs

Nerf Or Nothing

Good night's rest and now some Demon Slayer reactions!

Simon Scott

My favourite episode of demon slayer. It's so glorious

Daniel

my favorite taisho era secret. rengokus absence feels so strong in infinity castle

Nerf Or Nothing

Notice Muzans fatal mistake? Allowing the goat Murata in the infinity castle

Goldie

Rengoku is the Princess Diana of Demon Slayer ✊😔

Brandon

Back in season 1 when we first met Tamayo, Nezuko hugged her and Tanjiro said something like “Oh she probably just thinks of you as family” and Tamayo started crying. And at first it came off as like Tamayo is grateful that someone still cares about her even though she’s a demon. Now knowing what happened to her family, those words from Tanjiro probably meant so much more to her and it adds much more to that scene.. I really liked the way that came full circle

AzureSkies

The moment the floors opened up my jaw was on the floor, it’s only going to get more emotional from here!! These reactions have been so thoughtful and insightful and I’m glad I got to watch your journey with this series, now onto the movie reaction!

Nina

is the video quiet for anyone else? I hear Sophie well but the actual episode is quiet, I know theyre quite soft spoken early of the episode too.

Mickael Landry

This final episode perfectly echoes your intro, Sophie, where you questioned the Master and his wife's complete lack of surprise and the suspicious absence of the Hashiras; as if they were expecting Muzan as part of a larger plan. 🧩⚔️ And as I pointed out to you at the end of your reaction to episode 7, that explains why there was no Wisteria 🪻 around the estate: Kagaya didn't want a repellent keeping him out; he deliberately left the door wide open to lure the monster straight into his trap. 🚪🕸️ Muzan is normally ultra-cautious, so why did he ignore such an obvious red flag? 🚩🤔 His ARROGANCE blinded him‼️ Seeing Kagaya weakened, blind, and dying from his curse activated Muzan's god complex. 😈👑 He viewed Kagaya not as a threat, but as a pathetic mortal he could finally gloat over 🤕. His urge to personally witness the end of the Ubuyashiki bloodline completely eclipsed his usual paranoia. ⏳👁️ That arrogance was his downfall. He saw Kagaya’s young daughters 👭🏻 playing calmly and assumed he held all the cards 🃏, completely blind to the fact that he was walking straight into an inferno. 💣🔥 It’s heartbreaking to realize that Nichika and Hinaki weren't collateral damage or hostages (this is my theory), they likely actively chose to stay by their father’s side, sacrificing their young lives just to keep Muzan off-guard until the match was struck. 🕯️🛌🏻👧🏻🫶🏻👧🏻 In Muzan's mind, no parent would willingly sacrifice their own children as bait. But...the Ubuyashiki family wasn't playing by standard human rules. Their absolute, unwavering commitment to ending Muzan's reign of terror transcended self-preservation, showing a level of resolve that Demon Slayer has never seen before. ⚔️🛡️🔥🖤 What a chilling, masterpiece of a moment! Seeing centuries of hatred condensed into a single, terrifying trap was easily one of the most brilliant and dark highlights in the entire series! 🤯

I turned up the volume on the anime so not sure why that is? But tbf there's a lot of whispering and low speaking so it's hard to balance between me being audible and the anime. I'd rather me be audible tbh since the anime isn't the focus but rather my analysis to it haha :')

Mickael Landry

I came across this super funny comment on Carlie and Ange's channel (YouTube) and figured I had to share it here since Inosuke is literally your favorite character lol

JakeDaBezt

Just in time for dinner, guess the delay was worth it lol

Mateo_Tano

Hands down the best Demon Slayer episode for me. The animation hasn't ever looked better, the writing is amazing, the music is Demon Slayer's best and that last sequence... This episode is so special for me. Into the Infinity Castle we go! Seriously, the Muzan and Kagaya dialogue is Demon Slayer's best and I'll never change my mind. The way Kagaya embodies the main theme of the show, of the story (the human condition, eternity despite everything, the perseverence of the human kind) is just so beautyful.

Mateo_Tano

Have said it many times and I'll keep saying it because you keep proving it... You're just too clever! You clocking Kagaya's plan, you clocking the Ubuyashiki's kids "mystery"... You're just too good!

Nina

Yes exactly, alot of soft spoken dialogue between them instead of action + I'd much rather hear you talking over the anime than other way around. And I think I have some hearing loss so that's also a factor.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Yeah, I turned it up in editing as I was like "oh god this is quiet" but then Infinity Castle was fine! I think it doesn't help that the Master is sick so his voice is just diminished haha!

Mina E.D

That part. Cause Muratatata about to bring out the big guns

Seryu Ubiquitous

always amazing when i see this episode. the animation and music is just top tier. and your reaction to it made it even better. and thats all i have to say because i have to watch the infinity castle reaction right after this one.

Mina E.D

My favorite thing to come out of this arc is Tanjiro and Giyu forming this little "unit" as you put it. Him calling out to Tanjiro as they all fell into the infinity castle was everything. The children thing is kinda uncomfortable for me too. I also struggled with the idea of them being able to consent to such a huge thing. It pains me to see Muzans's intial condition after the explosion and think about how that also happened to the four. But I'm still glad Muzan didn't "get" to kill them and that they went out on their own terms. The cliffhanger this episode left us on is crazy, and I remember screaming at my screen while lying down thinking this was gonna be a cute little finale before the movie. But then seeing how it sets things up gave me chills. But then they fade to credits and make many people wait a year, and many reaction channels wait 2 years. I had to wait 2 months for streaming but at the time I had no idea when it was gonna be released, so that was hell lol. Beyond excited to see the infinity castle reaction. Can't just yet but when I do later tonight....I'm not ready.

Pina Simon

"How can they consent to die when they're so young" haven't finished watching this but I think you've forgotten Final Selection and that half the Corps are kinda...child soldiers. Ubuyashiki is morally grey, he's been doing this exact same thing for a while. At least he's not hypocritical....the end justifies the means, I guess...

DrSophieDarlingReacts

It's not the same situation as many of them don't go in expecting to die and are at least trained. I haven't forgotten it's just not comparable

Mina E.D

I wouldn't call him grey. More like a good man who has done some questionable things

Wyld89

Great react and analysis as always! One little line that might(?) have slipped by at around 43:57 in your video: Tamayo mentions that the flesh/thorn seeds that immobilize Muzan are the Blood Demon Art of the man Muzan turned into a demon in Asakusa as a distraction to get away from Tanjiro, back in Season 1. Tanjiro subdued him, Tamayo helped him, and it was previously mentioned that that man was able to return to living with his wife and consume small amounts of donated blood the way Tamayo/Yushiro do. But it seems even he wanted to get his vengeance on Muzan here, and Muzan's actions came back to haunt him once again.

Buzzard

Oooh... I just KNEW that last Taisho era secret was gonna bite you!😭

WillDaBeast Grasslands

I remember someone saying that those beach balls that are falling around Muzan during the master's speech represent all of the people he's killed, which is cool because that also kinda forshadows the master's kids dying.

Pina Simon

That's grey, a light grey but still grey. I might've come across harsher on him than I intended. Like, there's different levels to being morally grey, there's those that are pretty bad with some saving graces, those who you can't really genuinely tell if their actions are worth it or not for the greater good and then there's Ubuyashiki who clearly feels really gutted by the losses of the corps and can see the future. I think you can safely assume he was trying to do good to the best of his ability and had some real assurances that the sacrifice was worth it. Also, from a Doylist perspective, the teen in the trenches are teens because the show is aimed at teens, so it can't condemn the child soldiers aspect all that much because the target audience needs to see themselves in the screen and not feel condescended towards.

Pina Simon

Ah, sorry, I think I phrased it more cuttingly (condescendingly?) than my thoughts were. Since English is not my first language (ese sería el español, el infame dialecto Chileno si es que estoy siendo específica) but also it's a language I can mostly can reliably communicate in, sometimes the intention doesn't translate all that well and I brush past it due to overconfidence I think. I wanted to point out the child soldiers aspect but maybe the media that has influenced my English are way too sassy. I do think there's a connection to be made between Ubuyashiki letting his daughters die with him and letting his "children" fight this war from an ethical standpoint and his mindset but in an unintentional side effect way (I'm going to be real here, after my recent ethics II classes and some disagreements with my peers he's been especially rubbing me the wrong way but obviously not the same way that unethical medical experiments in the 19th and 20th century have...but I digress, this just has been in my mind lately), I don't think that's something that's fully in the intended reading of Ubuyashiki because of the shonen nature of DS or actually something that anyone needs to remember/keep in mind? The forgetting part was supposed to be a way introduce the idea not judge you for not noticing (because I don't think it's even supposed to be a thing to be noticed) (I feel like it more of a "see these girls being so brave for their sacrice?" Type of thing and the young fighters are just genre convention), I'm really sorry.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

It didn't slip by. I saw it :) There was just not much to discuss when so many other important topics have come up. We have to remember that I am discussing based on a single watch. Even if I catch something it may pale in comparison to other talking points. It doesn't mean I missed it but more so I'm trying to prioritise what I actually think is valuable. I'm only human and with none of my work being scripted we have to remember that I'm not going to discuss every little point but rather the core aspects. I know you don't mean it that way - this portion is just a vent but not at you haha! I get a lot of comments on YouTube that are like "ugh you didn't talk about X" or "you missed this" and it's just so frustrating because I cannot talk about every little detail that comes up when there's so much being packed into 23 minutes to an hour. The only way to do that is to actually go back over and draft up what I want to say which will take hours to do. It's much easier for people to comment on what they think you should have discussed when they're not the one having to sit and pull together a break down from the top of their head based on a single viewing haha! :') I think the frustration comes from feeling like I get more criticism than I do credit for how difficult this can actually be.

Wyld89

Totally understand that! It happens to be a detail I personally like, hence why I brought it up, but what youre saying makes complete sense! I do want to stress that I think you do a phenomenal job, and at least when I'm pointing out something, my intention is not to call you out for not reacting to it, but to hopefully help you catch one of the many details that can increase your enjoyment of it when there are so many to notice. Hope those comments done get you down too much. You are seriously in another league from most reactors. It's kinda spoiled me to the point that I can't watch some others now because I'm used to you picking up on SO much, and they pick up SO little by comparison. There's one reactor I've been watching a lot recently (though maybe not for much longer) who focuses so much on reacting to the camera that they miss key lines and interactions over and over. It's been driving me crazy, so I might have been carrying those thoughts back here, too.

Wyld89

You know, thought about it more on a walk, and I realized: it would be nicer for me (and maybe other commenters) to phrase things as "I really liked this detail..." rather than "did you miss detail...?" Still brings your attention to something, without being negative. Will remember for future!

jenypeni

19:44 I love listening to people say "Muzanhadanillnessthatendedupwithhimbecomingademonbecausehekilledthedoctorthinkingitwasn'tgoingtoworkbutactuallyitwasworking"

Leah Henderson

I was crying over Ubuyashiki's words, too, and I'm with you that part of it is from the journey because it's been so long (and glorious!), but it also touched something in my soul and made me feel hopeful about the actual world. Turns out thinking of the human spirit being immortal brings me a great deal of comfort in troubling times! You continue to amaze me with your educated guesses about what will happen! And now I only have one more Demon Slayer react to go, but I am definitely Not Ready. XD;;;
