You've ran into a production trap 😢 you can hop onto the seasonal train, but even then some shows may get more than one cour which throws a brick wall up again.. significant older shows like madoka might be great, although that's also getting a new movie the series stands on its own and the movies are their own thing too.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I do try to have a balance because unfortunately older shows don't perform too well on YouTube so I have to make sure the content is also relevant so that my channel doesn't get punished :')

Sonja Seren

The! Most! Confusing! Cursed! Technique! But honestly really damn clever.

Animuchan

The show / manga hints that Kirara is a trans woman but never says it outright. It has become a point of contention in the fanbase, unfortunately. In the manga though they do show what Kirara looked like before she transitioned.

Kapriece Kroeger

Has anyone recommended Naruto and Naruto Shippuden? It's a long and completed anime. Maybe that can be an option, I'd think you'd like it or any of the big three, tbh. I always run into these issues when finishing any type of shows lol. Great reaction btw

Coqnbauz

Im pretty sure this is safe information to provide since Kenjaku sorta explained it in the final episode of S2, but: you should think of the "reincarnated" sorcerers as being the same as Yuji/Sukuna. They are people from the past who have had their souls transplanted into a modern "host's" body. So what we're actually seeing isn't actually what they looked like, but rather the body of the person they're currently inhabiting.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I'm pretty sure this would be spoilers if I hadn't already watched 3 x 7 because they pretty much explain it and also Kenjaku didn't explain it in S2. There was no mention of previous sorcerers. Only those who had eaten a curse object and those who had a dormant technique opened. So this was pretty new information outside of pre-ordained pacts but there was not much detail. I get the want to inform but let me figure things out and see as I go rather than jumping the gun cause it ruins half the fun of theorising if people try to hold my hand rather than just letting me roll with it :)

Coqnbauz

Yeah I didn’t mean to spoil, but my comment was referring to last season when Kenjaku said he effectively released “1000 Yuji Itadoris” for the sake of the Culling Games 🤷🏽‍♂️

squalor and splendor

There wasnt a culling games 400 years ago Kashimo is an incarnated sorcerer from 400 years ago. Idk if you come to this conclusion later but figured id chime in

DrSophieDarlingReacts

This is why I always say don't jump the gun. to explain something Watch the entire video because I discuss it further :')

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Yes but it wasn't overtly explained that it was previous sorcerers. The 1000 Yuji Itadoris was in reference to those that consumed curse objects :) It's still wild af tho!

squalor and splendor

I usually comment as im watching rather than at the end lol.

Kapriece Kroeger

Yes! I went back and was like "wow, my active listening skills just stopped" 😭😭 im so sorry lol

DrSophieDarlingReacts

It's probably better to wait till the end because the chiming in usually ends up being something I discuss in detail haha!

Coqnbauz

I thought it was specifically about the sorcerers he made pacts with 1000 years ago? But I might be wrong 🧐 anyway love your reactions!

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Yeah I don't think he mentions how long ago that was. He just says that some are like Yuji and others have had dormant techniques opened and it pans to Megumi's sister haha! I think they were already bombarding us with so much they were just like "yeah let's leave this to S3" haha!!

Coqnbauz

Ah then I got ahead of myself I’m so sorry 😭 that’s so embarrassing

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Haha no it's fine! I think because I went on a tirade about Bleach rather than talking in depth about the others it didn't help!

Brandon

I love the stars in Kirara’s eyes, really cool design for her character.. also her name translates to “glittering” or “shining” depending how it’s written!

Anna Kyruin

Just adding on to the pile. Kirara is described as having been a boy by Panda, Kirara used to present masc in some panels as well, but in present time Kirara presents extremely fem (actually I consider Kirara possibly the cutest fem character tbh). Kirara also is dating Hakari who is not into men. At the very least we can assume Hakari sees Kirara as "not a man" and it isn't a stretch to then say that Kirara sees themselves as "not a man". Even if Kirara simply does not identify as a man anymore, non binary or agender is still trans. I honestly prefer this route of having a trans character to having a cringe scene where someone spells it out for the audience.

Bleach Fans had to wait 10 years oh no! What about HxH fans that are still waiting. İt has been 15 years

Antonio

SpyFam and Haikyuu are both unfinished though Haikyuu should be releasing a movie next year and then some final episodes soon after, I'm not entirely sure on that. SpyFam manga is still ongoing so the anime wont finish anytime soon. Even worse news, Vinland Saga mangaka just this week confirmed that S3 is still not in production at all, I've heard people say that the director wants the exact same team but the team got split up to different groups within MAPPA. Regarding HxH, I will always insist that it be viewed as a completed anime just from the way it was written , any anime continuation from the still ongoing manga probably wont happen within a decade no matter how much hxh fans hope for it to. Because of it's status and length, it's a good precursor to any of the big 3 because it directly inspired the mangaka of Naruto and One Piece and it'd be easier to get through since it's still -much- shorter than any of them. If you still choose to not watch it is completely understandable, its rough getting put on the back burner having to wait for stories to finish especially now that studios seem to be preferring multipart theatrical releases for finales.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Hahaha it's fine! It wasn't clearly explained! I think when you've seen S3 and you rewatch I'd probably have come to the same conclusion of like "oh yeah it's obvious that he means that!"

Atakan Bk

Yes 15!!! I havent been waiting that long myself but still

Rexus

I can't wait for you to react to the Big 3. For One Piece, I think it's better to wait since there's a new anime coming out for it or something. From what I could remember, it's a modern retelling so I assume less fillers and faster pacing compared to the original.

SoonerJay

Technically he did explain it because those who eat cursed objects become vessels for people as we see with Sukuna and Yuji (Yuji just happened to be the perfect cage) BUT there’s no way to really know what tf he’s talking about without having prior knowledge of what’s in episode 7 so it’s kind of in a spoilery grey zone

Atena

Yuji was having his Thorfinn moment, enduring all the punches, my dear boy 😭

Dennis

As a One Piece fan, it was so cool hearing one of the main characters Zoro voice Hakari and it fits so well

domi

With how much you have been enjoying anime its surprising u never got into it before🤔 HxH is kind of a finished story (Im begging u not to watch Narutos filler, i think theres 2 that are technically canon (and therefore referenced later), and 2 or 3 that are good)

Bowsber

As someone else mentioned, Kirara's name can mean shining or glittering, and is also notably an extremely feminine name (which is why Megumi is surprised after hearing her name from Panda, he's realising his information could be wrong or outdated). I think the ways that jujutsu techniques evolve as technology and society develops is used as an allegory for the way constructs like gender have evolved past previous understandings too, and Kirara is a really neat way to deliver that message. I imagine she transitioned after the suspension (or worse, that transitioning prompted the suspension in some way), as such changing her name to embrace the technique and parts of herself that the higher ups deemed unacceptable (and I love this interpretation with the ways you discussed her technique in your discussion too!) Considering that they were third years, it also makes sense to me that Hakari may well have clashed directly with the higher ups only as a result of wanting to protect and help Kirara as she discovered herself. I can really imagine him seeing no passion (and therefore having no interest in her) at first, then noticing and supporting her as she moved towards changing and loving herself. Perhaps it was passion for helping and defending her that gave him the motivation to truly push back against them in his third year. This is all just headcanon of mine at the end of the day, but I really do love these two and adore the potential subtext to discuss surrounding the themes of progressivism that they represent.

Anthony Flenniken

Bleach isn't so bad if you just watch the like actual canon content.

domi

Other coments mentioned reasons why its clear Kirara is trans, but also: The camera paning to Kirara as Panda mentions how the conservatives ideology not only applies to the regulations...... hmmmm im sure thats a coincidence

Hauxley Kernick

ME = KENJAKU right now I’m just going to say it how the heck are you this good at predicting things. You genuinely make me question my intelligence just with how good you are at understanding this show.

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I did watch Vampire Knight, Romeo x Juliet, Ouran High School Host Club, and Princess Tutu when I was 14 but then I got into gaming and that became my focus :)

OURAN? I didn't know i was in the presence of a woman of such culture, my apologies

TripMcDub

Soundtrack wise, this is one of my favourite episodes of jjk by far

Seryu Ubiquitous

15 minutes into the video: without further ado, lets jump into... xD i really like kirara, her characterdesign, her character and her technique, just a perfect combo. one other thing i like to mention: ik you already have enough recommendations for anime to watch but i have one in mind that could be a really nice one for this channel. im thinking about "black lagoon". really rare to find it on reaction channels but i think it would be a nice match.

baileygobrr

you will understand why we want mob psycho so bad if you end up watching it lol

baileygobrr

oh my DAAYYS i forgot how crazy the music went in this episode ahaha its sooo good

Leah Henderson

Such a fun episode! I love the fight between Kirara, Megumi, and Panda. It's so fun and captivating, and Panda is just a laugh riot. XD I started One Piece earlier this year because I have so many friends who love it, so I can totally relate to your wanting to watch the Big 3 even if they're quite long! I've accepted I'll be watching OP until the end of time... Also HUZZAH to the trans allyship! One hundred percent with you. Kirara is such a cool character, too!

Anonlou

Ooh, Mob psycho is perfect for you IMO. It is a comedy, but it does deal with growing up and finding yourself and growing as a person. Edit: I don't think watching the big 3 is bad, but they're more of a "Had to be there" sort of deal. Bleach definitely is worth watching it IMO, Naruto is fine (I am NOT watching Boruto thoug) But one piece. I am not touching that.

Kona

Are you planning on watching season 2 of Cyberpunk? You saw season 1 and two just released

opalss

Spy x Family is not finished! The manga is still ongoing, so the anime still has a long road ahead of itself(presumably)

Eliza22

I don't comment often, but I felt compelled to after hearing you speak so passionately on your support of trans people in the intro. It damn near brought me to tears as a trans woman, and I just wanted to thank you for this, and for recognising Kirara being trans and not arguing against it like so many people in the community do. Thank you. Also, if you happen to read this, big fan, love your content and the way you approach the media you cover. Thank you byeee :3

DrSophieDarlingReacts

Thank you so much ❤️ I've worked and met many trans people in my life who are wonderful, beautiful people who do not deserve hatred for how they choose to live their lives so I will always be in support ❤️

Eliza22

You do not know how much that means to someone like me, who lives in a country rather famous for its intolerance towards all things LGBTQ+. Once again, thank you. And also, thank you for replying to my comment! It means a lot, though this time from a more personal, selfish perspective of an individual interacting with someone whose content they enjoy. Thank you once more :3

DrSophieDarlingReacts

I try to interact as much as I can as I truly do appreciate everyone that takes the time out to comment! Can just be hard at times haha!

Irina

Jjk having so many queer characters across the board is so wonderful. Kirara, Kenjaku, Uraume, Nobara, Megumi, Yuji, and of course Satosugu. I know a lot of people might not see the same things, but Gege made so many characters fluid in gender and attraction to the point where no one besides Hikari can actually be pinned down as a straight man lol
