Mr. Zalieni's Toy Emporium [30x40] [6K] [jpg/webp] (Patreon)
Content
As you meander through town, your steps lead you into a muddy side alleyway. Your eyes catch a glimmer through the tarnished glass of a nearby display window: rows and rows of strange puppets, unusual masks and peculiar miniatures. A small shop stands, its narrow façade seemingly crushed between the dilapidated houses on either side. Your curiosity got the best of you once again: you enter. Inside, once used to the musty smell of polish, turpentine and something else you can’t quite put your finger on yet, you gaze upon the bizarre shambles of eclectic memorabilia and toys. Music boxes playing unearthly melodies, leather balls, rocking chimeras made out of wood, lead soldiers painted with anatomically correct wounds, and dolls too realistic for your liking. You do a quick spin to orient yourself towards the door. Too late: your eyes lock with the shopkeeper’s. A rotund man wearing a striking purple and green attire. He greets you in a far too cheerful voice. You can technically still leave…but that would be rude, wouldn’t it?
This map was partly inspired by Blinsky's toy shop in Vallaki and is meant to be fully compatible with the Curse of Strahd setting! Depending on how you'd like to run the Feast, the variants may come in handy as well!

In a desperate attempt to lift the spirits of your party, you enter a foreboding toy shop, hoping to buy some eccentric, personalized gifts for your companions. Despite the unusual items in display, the shopkeeper rapidly put you at ease with his affable demeanor. You discuss your friends’ tastes in length, even recall a few of your favorite memories with them. When the shopkeeper leaves to get something in his workshop, you suddenly hear a friend’s voice calling your name. As you turn, you notice it’s not coming from the street…but from one of the dolls.
A Friend in Need (Mechanical variant): The local toy shop is owned by an inventive gnome called Barnabus Bomberstick. He is an old friend of one of your companions and called for your help. The imps he employs (none of them are paid, for the record) turned on him and turned the whole workshop upside down. He managed to lock them in before they could escape, but it’s a terrible mess in there; filled with sharp objects, unfinished mechanical projects and tiny angry fiends. Barnabus implores you to find a solution. Preferably one where he keeps his workshop AND gets his employees back. Bonus points if he still doesn’t need to pay them.
