😢 All the wonderful A list movies that were suggested for July, and then passed over in favour of B grade juvenile junk. At this stage, it doesn’t even look like Dune 2 will make it through. Looking at the leading 4 in the final poll, July is looking almost as bad as June. The best movies certainly aren’t winning.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Rob and Trin are my favorite reactors, but juvenile junk seems to win a lot here. It’s amazing the great films that get ignored.

I think the decades thing was just for a while. As of now they can start doing other polls for movies and I think that's why it's so fun. Because even if something didn't win in it's "decade" it could win for other aspects, like you said, in a different kind of poll.

I hate the paranormal activity movies but love the conjuring movies. I think they are incredibly different. Not just in how they are shot but in character depth and a ton of other things.

I feel like there are a lot of guys here voting for flash over substance. Sometimes I enjoy a little of that, but it seems to rule here. That Jonah Hill / bro comedy thing. It's funny to me that some complain about '80s & 90s movies -- when I'd say the majority of those are leagues above these modern 'best'.

I don't think that any of these are better than Whiplash, Ready or Not, The Menu, Ford vs Ferrari, Star Trek: Into the Darkness, Snowpiercer, Mad Max: Fury Road, Gravity, Parasite, Carol, The Artist, Ex Machina, The Irishman, Dunkirk, Lincoln, La La Land. At least that means better still to look forward to.

worst offenders are jurrasic 4, karate kid, predator 7. those 3 lost a lot of quality compared to the originals. everything else has good actors and interesting reaction potential. dont know why everyone obsessed with the jayden smith karate kid though. if its jackie chan they like we should suggest some of jackies old kungfu movies.

Now You See Me is good for one watch through. I don't think it's a spectacular movie, but it's okay. That and Kong Skull Island are the only decent ones here imo.

Agree. Honestly, there weren't many in this entire poll with substance though. As BadCode said...most decent movies are the older ones. The modern movies of today ARE all flash with little substance/heart. And that's why I think we get a poll like this. It's just the decade I think.

Now You See Me is certainly best when watching for the first time, because everything is new and the most exciting since we don't know what's to come. However, I still think it's always fun and a great time watching it in a rewatch too. It's just a lot of fun, and I enjoy the characters throughout this movie. :) Heidi

Really? Maybe it's just me, but Prey sucked. Whoever wrote/directed it had never been hunting or used basic survival stuff in their lives. All I kept thinking was she deserved to die and rooting for it after how bad she sucked. Guess that's just me.

Tastes vary sure, but there are still discernable distinctions in quality. There's still such a thing as good taste and not good taste. I highly doubt that the 22 Jump Street crowd are voting because they think it's a high quality film. More likely finding basic bro humor appealing.
