Just got alerted about this today, just so you know that any price adjustments after November were not done by us. Android and Windows is unaffected and people who are already members before November seem to be able to keep the pricing they have now.

Not according to the document we got. Some of the info is personal to us so I could not show the whole doc. They say Android and Windows is unaffected.

No idea about any work arounds on Apples side. Seems so dumb and Patreon are trying to work something out. Until then I would try to use android tablet/phone or anything that does not use apples app store.

it sucks but they did say Desktop (windows) is not affected. I need to make sure that is clear. Apples App store only is what they told me. Unless you mean something else? Apple Desktop? Cause yeah that will apply

No worries, I posted it so we can try to clarify anyone's confusion. This has happened to other apps in the past and I really wonder why people spend so much on the phones to get wrecked in the app store 😞 The tech is great but yeah.

Man I have a iPhone and had one for years but I don’t know why I even got it at this point smh they always doing unnecessary stuff it’s so weird to me smh the tech definitely not worth all the dumb stuff and I’m for sure thinking about changing 🤣🤣

I'm not an Apple user but if I'm reading an article on techcrunch.com correctly, this only applies strictly to purchasing on the iOS app and does not apply to paying on the web. So a Mac user can always just go to Patreon via web, on their browser and putchase a membership at the same, old price. Just avoid paying via the iOS app unless you love Apple so much that you want to give them a tip ;)

Yeah, this is basically what Epic Games sued Apple for a few years ago, and despite what anyone thinks of Epic, it's too bad that they lost. Hopefully Patreon will add a notice in the app about how users can avoid paying extra by going to the website, since that is the one good thing that came out of that lawsuit (Apple cannot stop developers from giving notice about alternate payment systems).

You can! This is only for in-app purchases on iOS.

Just don’t use the iOS app to subscribe and you’re good! Visit patreon.com in your web browser of choice, like Safari or Chrome if you don’t have any other devices.
