Bohemian Rhapsody 2018 FULL REACTION

Comments

Eddie

Rob & Trin please react to Mr Robot. Such a great Tv series, and Rami Malek is an amazing actor :)

Annie Bonz

I hadn't seen this, so Imma watch with y'all lol <3

throg of thunder

The Elton John biopic "Rocketman" is great if you're in the mood for a music themed movie. In my opinion Rocketman is a stronger overall film, but both have great leads and music.

thin grey sweatpants

Would've liked this movie more if they actually stayed accurate to Queen's history.

Dylan mejia

Marc Martel was the singer for the scenes that weren’t using the real Queen Recordings. You can find him on YouTube, sounds identical to Freddie!

Katie Young

My favorite lol part is Mike Myers as they discuss the radio play of Bohemian Rhapsody saying " "I love My Car" now THAT'S the kind of song teenagers will crank up the volume and bang their heads too!! Bohemian Rhapsody! Ugh! Bohemian Rhapsody will never be that song sorry." 😂 *chefs kiss* to whoever wrote it to be Mike that played THAT part and delivered THAT line!!

Schmaster

Sasha Baron cohen was originally going to play Freddie. Brian may let them use his guitars for the movie

J J

and now youtube live aid views just jumped by about 50 2 hours after you released this...

Queen was a big part of the soundtrack that played as I raised my Son. In the spring of 2018 we went to see Infinity War and saw a poster for this movie in the lobby. We discovered “Bo Rap” was being released later that year in the same month as my Son’s birthday, November. He ran over to the poster and proclaimed that the events of his 12th birthday celebration had just been decided. We would be going to dinner and watching “Bohemian Rhapsody” in theaters. We had an absolute blast on his birthday! Our theater was full and everyone was singing along, the energy was amazing. I could’ve only imagined what it would have been like to see them live. I was born in 81’ so I never got to see Queen perform in person, but being in that theater with my Son and sharing the kind of joy that only music can bring…now I’m crying again. So happy you guys enjoyed this one!!! Thank you both for sharing this joy with us!!! 🎶❤️🎶

Felt like even though Rami was impeccable, as well as the whole band cast, it was played too sterile and safe sometimes. It was pretty by the numbers and had no uniqueness or interesting framing device. Also wish they hadn't altered the timeline of some events to create manufactured movie drama. Rocketman deserved the praise and awards this movie got, but BoRhap is still great for a band/estate sanctioned biopic. The music is undeniable on its own and it's got great production design and emotion. The fact a lot of the same creatives on this are doing the MJ movie next year is exciting. Also fun fact, this and Rocketman are connected kinda; though Bryan Singer is credited as director because he shot more than 80% of it, he was removed before production finished for unprofessional issues and the guy the studio brought in to finish everything went on to be the director of Rocketman. There was also talks of having Rami do a Freddie cameo in that too, but it didn’t work out.

Rocketman is a better movie than Bohemian Rhapsody in every possible way. It has actual heart and feels true to Elton in a way that this movie just doesn't do for Freddie, it's too safe and boring to capture who Freddie really was. The music in Rocketman helps to enhance the story whereas in Bohemian Rhapsody it feels like the story is just there to get to the next song.

Lovely reaction guys! Rami got an Oscar for this, which also made history by being the first time an egyptian/arab won an Oscar for best actor! If you watch interviews from the time the movie came out, you could tell he absoloutely loved this, he said it was difficult to “let go” of Freddie afterwards. His mannerism and the “darling” etc. Him and Lucy (playing Mary) also dated for some time afterwards ☺️ Btw, if I remember correctly I think in terms of his singing voice they used Freddies where they could, and other times used Marc Martel, and some of Rami in places.

I was 15 in 1985, I was visiting my cousin, and luckily he had both a VCR, and MTV so we recorded Live Aid , and he later had the tapes transferred to digital media and on my 40th birthday he gave me a copy. I must have watched the concert 3 dozen times over the last 14 years, Queen was awesome as were many of the acts that played. This was an awesome tribute to Freddy Mercury and Queen!

Racanelli

What a great reaction!

Kim Magee

cool! Excited to watch this, I find his relationship with Mary. So fascinating, but seeing how they come up with some of the stuff was awesome. I love this movie! Can't wait to watch it!

Cindy

I don't know if you noticed, but the actor playing John in the band was Joseph Mazzello, the young boy from Jurassic Park. This was also not the first time he acted with Rami Malik. They were together in Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks film "The Pacific", the companion film to "Band of Brothers".

Michael Celia

Yeah, there's a reason why Rami Malek won the Oscar, the BAFTA, the Golden Globe, the SAG... Surprised no one mentioned this yet, but the truck driver that eyes Freddie at the truck stop was a cameo by Adam Lambert who now sings with Queen. And oh the irony that Mike Myers plays the producer who shites on Bohemian Rhapsody...that had to be intentional.

sandrowitz

The great Rami Malek, i think im going to suggest Mr Robot on the next show poll

SYN

One of the things that really gets me is the fact that since Freddie’s passing “Love of my Life” is only ever played by one member in the band; Brian May. I saw Queen+ Adam Lambert a few years ago on and he always comes alone on stage with his guitar and starts singing just him and the audience and the spirit of Freddie until about the end of the song when a recording of Freddie finishes the song and walks away. 🥹

Wicked Psyched

Wow, I don't know why I hadn't seen this movie yet. This was the first thing from Rob and Trin that I hadn't previously seen . So glad they decided to watch it or I probably wouldn't have bothered. I forgot how much I loved Queen back in the day. Thanks Rob and Trin.

Beth

It’s worth watching the lside-by-side live aid performance with this movie and the original. It’s amazing to see how perfect they got it. It’s on YouTube.

Anthony Hempstead

Grate now im forking crying already this morning

Elena

1 of my fav movies ! also y'all sould also watch the Elvis movie ! by baz luhrmann ! just as good in my opinion !

Elena

As freddie said "do anything with my legacy, just never make me boring" so i loved this movie just the way it is, there are already plenty of docs telling the real story. i think freddie would have loved this movie.

AlexH88

Amazing reaction I remember when I seen this movie i was listening to queen and watching queen videos for weeks

Schmaster

Queen performed live aid like they were getting paid. There’s a reason few people talk about the other performances.

Sherry Bandito

My late bf’s favorite band was queen. I’ve not watched the movie but think I will watch y’all’s reaction

SK Ellis

Rob, in response to your comment about Africa still suffering despite an event like Live Aid, the concert was specifically geared toward helping Ethiopia with the 1983-1985 widespread famine, the worst in a century at the time. Outside of that there's still the matter of ongoing colonial theft of resources and sketchy collaborations with country leaders across the continent. Like all things there's more to it with very complex issues at hand and I won't write an essay here but yeah. Great reaction. It does remind me I still need to watch Rocketman though.

Kim Magee

I'm pretty sure that I remember many years ago that they tried to send food tins that were collected to places that needed food and the government's rejected the tins and said they wanted money sent for obvious reasons. They don't really care about helping the people. They want the cash

Kim Magee

Yeah I was thinking that when he mentioned Elvis, that movie is seriously so incredible

Kim Magee

Not to mention they love the person who plays Elvis's manager

Kim Magee

Mary is still alive and he left half his fortune to her which was estimated. I think to be 158 million pound, but I believe due to the death of his parents she pretty much got a large part of that too, and he maintained throughout his life that she was the love of his life, which is such a fascinating and beautiful relationship considering he was gay, I love the little details like the fact that he had extra teeth. Apparently giving him better range and also he spoke a little different to most people

Kim Magee

I really hope that you get to watch the Elvis movie, you are right that Elvis and Freddie Mercury both had an incredible stage presence, But there is a lot more to the older story than a lot of people realise unless they're big fans

kimburley

Great reaction! I saw Queen live on their News of the World tour 1977 in AZ, USA ( Cheap Trick opened). The show was fantastic! Love Queen.

Julie dave

I was 16 in 1985, and my bf asked if I wanted to go to a concert. I’d never been to one before and he said we would need to leave at 2am (from Essex) to make sure we get there early to be near the front. I almost said no, but he was really keen so agreed and crawled out of bed to go. It was live aid. So glad I did, there were about 20 people between us and the stage so we did get close, it was worth getting up that early :) and Queen truly were amazing. Really enjoyed watching your reactions to this brilliant movie - thank you for sharing :)

Grif Kane

What an incredible movie, Rami Malek does such an incredsible job. Seriously though, watching these reactions hits me in the feels so much more than watching movies alone. Your love for Queen showed throughout this whole thing which made it so much more enjoyable.

Zebraa

I'm not sure if anyone else mentioned it yet - The Dirt It's the come up story of Motley Cru, probably the closest to Guns n Roses or Metalica with a similar theme, but it is a little moreeee sobering than Bohemian Rhapsody

Strav 23

Mike Myers saying no kid will ever bang there head to Bohemian Rapsody is perfect. They knew what they were doing lol

roncelune

Rami Malek is an incredible actor and he did not steal the Oscar he won for this movie. I really really hope you'll watch Mr. Robot sometime soon.

June

No

June

Basement jerks voted for this.

ShelleyAnn

I adore this reaction. Always come back here and watch this when I'm in a *queen* mood. These are the reactions I wish trin was on camera for , you can just tell how much she loves queen by her reaction, litrally hear the smile in her voice, but I defo wanted to see them dance moves 😂 x
