Dexter New Blood S01E010 Sins of the Father FULL REACTION

Comments

George Hennen

The new dexter show coming out in July starts right after he got shot.

Daniel Lewis

Can’t wait for you to watch original sin especially after you just finished new blood.

Chris K

Unfortunately after Logan, Dexter met the code

minkit

I know New Blood is also divisive among fans, but I really did enjoy this as an ending far more than I enjoyed the original ending. I found it more satisfying, I suppose. I wasn't entirely satisfied but I was MORE satisfied. Knowing what's coming in the new series in July, however. Well, I'm super excited. The trailer and details seem so fun and your view of Original Sin (which is one of my favorite seasons in the entire franchise, esp the last few eps) should end just in time for the new show to start, or at least pretty close to it. :D It'll be so fun watching it in real time with y'all. I also know some ppl have mixed feelings about Dexter killing Logan, but I always enjoy the reminder that Dexter is a serial killer. And he's a killer because he *enjoys* killing and yes, he has this code, and maybe a part of him even believes in it to a certain extent, but the code isn't what drives him to kill. It's what keeps him from getting caught, generally. And killing Logan in that moment for him fit in with the first rule of the code; don't get caught. I DO think 1 more episode or an extra long final episode would've been a bit better for New Blood, but since we have the new show, idec. Like I think New Blood will be even better now that we have the new show, which is (should it be successful) is already confirmed will have multiple seasons as they "want to continue it for as many years as possible". So there's that. And yeah, they retcon a few things like the M99. I think that was a detail that bugged a lot of ppl cuz Dexter used that in the original show, but in New Blood they said it was Ketamine. It's not that big of a deal to me. Didn't ruin my enjoyment anyway.

Bradley Weeks

I'm not sure how I feel about Dexter Resurrection. I kind of like this as an ending for him. He excepted his fate and his last thoughts were of Deb.

Jack Mingle

Technically since Liddy, we forget that Dexter has acted before against innocent people, Liddy, that Motel guy in S6, Laguerta. I also think people forget that Logan was bitter about Angela and Dexter, while Angela may have let the whole thing go after Kurt's body collection, I doubt that Logan would. Plus he did give Logan the chance by giving him the keys. Perhaps a bit rash but nonetheless fell within the code "Don't get caught" is rule 1

Jack Mingle

Logan wouldn't have let the whole thing go either, even if Angela would have. Logan had feelings for Angela, and he wouldn't let Dexter get away with anything. People also forget that Dexter merc'd both Liddy and the Motel guy for discovering him. 100% Logan's kill was kosher by the Code standards. He gave Logan the chance to give him the keys and let him go but chose the gun instead.

I watched Original Sin this past Saturday. Absolutely amazing

James

Amazing ending for the show, I honestly don’t have any complaints. I do see this ending as the most realistic outcome for Dexter his lifestyle has never really been sustainable long term. I do agree I think he could’ve talked his way out of that and I was annoyed he killed Logan, that was horrible. Anyway Hopefully we see Harrison again I really enjoyed his character and actor. I can’t wait for original sin and then for the next series after that

Jan T

I really, really enjoyed this show, right up until this final episode. I agree with Rob. The killing of Logan felt forced, and too signposted, and the whole ending just felt rushed. I’m not too keen on what I’ve seen of Original Sin. Seeing a group of younger actors trying to mimic the original actors portrayals of the characters, just felt weird to me. I’m much more excited to see Dexter: Resurrection. That sounds very promising from what is known so far.

Janet

So many flaws in this. She loved him one minute and hated him a minute later. You are right it was M99, not ketamine. Now I understand Dexter would not have had access to M99 so I understand him using Ketamine, but to have police reports from Miami saying the BHB used Ketamine is ridiculous. The fans have long memories.

Joe Lazarus

Really? I mean... their relationship was brief. I really didn't sense an intense love or a strong connection between Angela and Dexter. It felt more like they were in a fling stage. So it's not that surprising why Angela turned cold so quickly. She's not going to react the same way Deb... there's no comparison.

Large Big79

he's fit the code since he killed oscar prado back in season 3

Janet

Original Sin gets better with every episode. I hated the ending of New Blood. But, the beginning of Original Sin spoils how they manage to have Dexter alive for Dexter Resurrection which will air July 11. A fabulous trailer for it was released last Saturday. I'm looking forward to watching Original Sin and Dexter Resurrection, with you both!

Janet

Like I said before, they tried to "Walter White" Dexter in 1.5 episodes instead of over a 6 year period. They didn't make me hate him. They spent 8 years calling him "America's Favorite Serial Killer" only for them to want us to want him dead? It's like telling us how stupid we were to like him. Anyway, now we are on to Dexter: Resurrection and it looks very fantasy, but who knows? Fabulous cast, including Batista and Harry.

kimburley

Love this show and how it ended. Fitting end really. Let’s face it. We loved Dexter, but he was breaking the law and lots of family and friends got in harms way because of him. Poetically, Harrison made Dexter see All of them (like Dexter did to those he had on his table)…Dexter saw and agreed. I am looking forward to both Original Sin and Resurrection to see our fav serial killer some more 👍🏻

Large Big79

I think Angela would have let Dexter go if he just waited but he was too desperate to be with his son that he didn't want to take the risk. Dexter has always driven by selfish reasons and him valuing himself and his family over his code is not something new or out of character for him (he has done it multiple times before). I thought this was overall a great ending for this show, even though it will be continued.

Large Big79

idk why you're taking it so personally, You dont have to hate him to understand what hes doing is wrong and you're not being attacked by the writers for liking him. There was also no drastic change of character here. It doesn't have to be so black and white where its either "I love him and he can do no wrong" or "I hate him and he should die" and they're not trying to make you suddenly hate him.

Janet

you should go ahead and watch the Resurrection trailer (if y'all watch trailers). It has nothing to do with Original Sin

James

Yeah I mean I don’t think they were trying to get us to hate Dexter. Personally I liked this ending and I still love Dexter it’s not mutually exclusive. They were pointing out things that he’s done wrong and even if those flashes they couldn’t include every time he’s broken the code. Like I said already he’s a serial killer, him living happily ever after as a “good person” is not realistic

Farva

Why couldn't they just claim self defense for Harrison? Just say Dexter tried to attack him, and he shot him.

MKeiran92

So excited for Original Sin, its genuinely one of my favourite seasons!

Julia

You should not spoil! Seriously.

Octavia

Agree with the others... we don't need to hate Dexter to know that he's not a hero. He always been selfish and ruined plenty of lives. There shouldn't be a happily ever after for Dex. But it's enjoyable watching him work his way out of the jams that he creates.

clxhpz

Its mid

James

I would not say that Logan fit the code just because he refused to let Dexter out

AKP

it spoils something pretty major from the opening of original sin lol

MKeiran92

Yeah, well, you know, that's just like, uh, your opinion, man.

Danilo C

I hate this ending. It doesn't matter how many people know Dexter is the BHB, no one has any proof of it and there is no proof out there to be found to link him to anything. Even LaGuerta's death can't be pinned on him like they suggest by showing Angel pulling out her case file. Debra was the who killed her, not Dexter. If there was any evidence to be found it would point to her, not him. Dexter didn't panic to the point of killing an innocent person even when LaGuerta herself knew, there's no reason for him to panic here. Harrison is not a reason for him to become a fugitive, on the contrary. He's a huge reason for him to not do that and play it cool, get a lawyer and watch them scramble to fine any proof. Also: no, Ketamine is not the same as M99. The showrunner messed up and introduced this unnecessary plot hole.

Octavia

Too many fans still romanticize Dexter. He's enjoyable to watch, very well played... but does he deserve a happy ending? I don't think so. Every spiraling situation is of his own making... and lives are ruined. But I'm sure the character keep living as long as the brand is a money maker.
