Rewatching these episodes makes me feel a little sad that we are quickly approaching the end. Since you started this series, it has been my reason to be a member. Getting to relive this series with you each weekend has been a highlight of every week. Thanks to whoever suggested this, and thanks to Rob and Trin for selecting it. If someone hasn’t already done so, let me be the first to toss out the idea of Arrested Development as the replacement series.

James

Such amazing episodes it felt like old community again. Troy and Abeds relationship will always get me, they’re literally soul mates. I hope he comes back I need them to get back together

Octavia

Love when they do stylized episodes. The Ass Crack Bandit investigation was very much in the style of David Fincher movies like Zodiac, Red Dragon, etc... I definitely think that Duncan was the original Ass Crack Bandit. There was a reference to the ACB in S2 (2x17)... then stopped for over a year... and Duncan has been away since S2. So that gels. But I also think that some other copycat was definitely at work. Big level up from 5x01 & 5x02... which I thought were okay, but not better than the final eps of S4. Jeff & Annie team-ups are the best!

Octavia

From episode 2x17... one of Annie's student body president campaign promises: "The assailant known only as The Ass Crack Bandit will be brought to justice."

The movie was actually announced last year. Dan Harmon has a finished script, and all the main players have committed. It is supposed to be for the Peacock streaming service. I think it is just a matter of scheduling. A couple of the cast are in ongoing series, and Donald Glover just recently released a new album. Hope it goes into production this year.

My ex pretty much majored in Gluteal Numismatics...you could bounce a coin off that...nevermind

Chris Moffit

Great episodes! Love them playing Sail Away considering in season 1 or 2 Troy mentioned crying while listening to that song. Very good callback that may have made me sob first time watching. Also recommendation for a show to replace Community, Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I feel like you guys might get a kick out of it. Also there are some familiar faces in there

Octavia

Love that Pierce's boat's name, Childish Tycoon, is a fitting reference for both Pierce... and Donald Glover's music name, Childish Gambino. And Troy's line in 5x01, Repilot, is suddenly more meta... after finding out that Zach Braff was only in the first 6 episodes of Scrubs S9: "Son of a bitch! After everything Scrubs did for him?!"

dasgrove

As we near the end of our time with Community, I recommend The Things We Do In The Shadows as a follow-up. Very different aesthetic and tone laugh out loud funny, and surreal in story.

LeBron's Burner

Great set of episodes. Very sad to see Troy go, I'm not sure on the exact timing of his departure but Donald Glover's music career as Childish Gambino was really exploding at the time as well as his Movie career and his own show "Atlanta" which he created, starred and wrote/produced/directed. Truly an incredible talent in the entertainment industry. Also, there was a virtual table read of Co-operative Polygraphy during COVID times with a special guest you may recognize that I would absolutely LOVE to see you guys react to once you're done the series. One of the only good things to come out of the lockdown.

Victoria Davis

would love this because i havent watched yet but want too i hear great things

FedeM

I think the Ass Crack Bandit was only mentioned before but we didn't know anything about it really

Octavia

What We Do In The Shadows is one of my faves. While it's not entirely necessary... they should watch the mockumentary movie first.

Octavia

Personally, I'd rather that the consideration of new shows take place more here on patreon. I mean, for when it comes down to the serious pitching of actual candidate choices. Here is the primary avenue for me. Just not interested in discord... glad folks have fun there... but I prefer commenting on patreon.

Rob & Trin React!

It will not be an issue, was just some chats going on in Discord about what we might do going forward but votes and suggestions will always be posted here. Just doing due diligence to make people aware that it is an option.

Octavia

That's great... Thank you! Cool, cool, cool. With so many patrons... I always wish there was more commenting happening here. They'll come out for new show pitching though.

Anthony Ancona

Donald Glover left Community to sing in a band.

Nathan Taylor

If you like Walton Goggins in Ant Man then you should see him in the series Justified

Ben

If you’re missing Community we would love a reaction to the now iconic table read that the cast did virtually over Covid. Hilarious. It’s a read of season 5 episode 4 cooperative calligraphy. Pedro pascal plays the Walter goggins role. Absolutely worth a watch ❤️
