I think Nicky WAS Spencer's kid, but after learning of the long-time affair, he assumed he wasn't. I LOVED the talk between Brian and Harry. At this point, Brian didn't know that Dexter was a murderer too & he went through so much. He clearly does care about Dexter, so didn't want to bring that trauma back out in Dexter's life, hence disappearing from it & not reappearing until s1 when he realized Dexter has the same darkness as him. I'm assuming Brian checked in on Dexter from time to time and around s1 era, he realized Dexter is a serial killer too so now hey!! They can bond over it. Hence trying to get close to him (and honestly, had he just gone up to Dexter and said "hey i'm your brother, here's what happened" he prob would've had a better chance... lol) Knowing that we're getting a Trinity prequel really makes me want a Brian prequel (also I think shows about fictional serial killers is much more fun than dramatized series about *real life* serial killers. Those ones feel a bit... exploitative to me). Cuz I'm like 99% certain he won't show up in any of the other Original Sin seasons, however many there turns out to be. I'd be super curious to see his journey into his schtick, becoming Rudy Cooper. If they're gonna do this whole "Dexter serial killers" prequel thing, I don't see why not touch on what he was up to between Original Sin s1 and Dexter s1.

Great episode, super excited for resurrections and for season 2. I liked the change of scenery that New blood gave us I never felt like the location was bad. Yeah like you said Biney never stood a chance he was failed by the system, traumatized and abused plus everything he went through before. The opening scene when he’s trying to distract Dexter from a severed head is insane the depth that this adds is amazing.

Brillant, great first season! Glad they're getting more. Was worried when SMG was a part of it that it'd be another 1 season gig. Though I personally love her she's not had the greatest run on TV shows since Buffy. Very happy that streak has ended. And I agree, one can NEVER has too much Christian Slater in their lives.

I wonder if Spencer was ever found during the BHB investigation? Although I guess 16 years is a long time to be in the water, probably not much left.

This first season was really solid and they did their thing with the cast. It’s rare to have a such a quality for a sequel. I believe in every character especially Dexter and Debra.

24 would be a perfect space filler for this until the new season comes out 😜

Large Big79

you started this series at the literal perfect moment in time, there is not a single weeks delay between you being caught up with the show and the next season starting.

I came here to say this! So kismet. I guess I was the only one who didn't realize the newest series started so soon. I feel like OS just came out!

The new season came out today!

Great season. Sarah Michelle Gellar was really underused though. I still know nothing really about her. Maybe in S2. And Molly Brown still doesn't evoke Deb at all to me... she's a good actress... I wish she did. Christian Slater also looks very different from James Remar... But he has that same gruff quality, so that works for me. Everyone else are really perfect matches and so believable. I'm just going to keep ignoring all the timeline contrivances... and go with Dexter as an unreliable narrator. Because it is a lot of fun.

I thought Molly Brown nailed all the core aspects of Deb and had all her mannerisms down and I could easily see that character becoming the Debra we see in the main show, Debra in the main show could be just as reckless as teenage Deb was
