WE ARE SO FKN BACK

Let's go!!!!!!

Here we go. Jon Bernthal fits this role so well. His acting is absolutely brilliant. I can still hear it: "One batch, two batch, penny and dime."

Farva

Jon Bernthal is definitely the quintessential Punisher. But, before Bernthal, we had Thomas Jane, and we never thought it could get any better. I hope we can get a reaction to the 2004 Punisher soon. Really think you guys would enjoy it. Back when Marvel was still just a comic company and not a cinematic power house.

Michael Celia

"Don't gush over him, Trin!" says the guy who vibrates every time Claire Temple or Colleen Wing are on the screen lol It's a good move to have a mostly self-contained story - Donny and the douche heads - surrounding Frank for the first episode...it re-introduces us to the character who we haven't seen in a while and sets up what to expect for this show. Again, different from the other Netflix series. And I totally forgot Shoreh Aghdashloo was in this...always great to see her and hear her voice (she really needs to do ASMR or something).

Farva

lol pretty sure he was purposefully projecting with that comment.

Anthony Ancona

So excited to do Punisher! Thank you!

AnGeLuS

I think the first Punisher, as a movie version, was Dolph Lundgren in 1989. So, even before Thomas Jane. But I don't think it was particularly close to the comics. Ray Stevenson was also quite entertaining in the role

James

I’m loving it so far. The punisher isn’t afraid of killing so it separates him from all the other characters we’ve seen. Plus Jon Bernthal is amazing in anything and frank castle is a great character

Farva

Yeah, you're right. I was mostly making the point that we never thought anyone could top Thomas Jane's Punisher until Bernthal came along. I remember a lot of controversy about the decision to cast Bernthal before the show released, and then he blew everyone's minds.

George Hennen

Off topic but is Dexter resurrection coming this week?

Zwopt

FedeM

Hopefully, one day, they'll react to The Bear..... and that's all I'm gonna say regarding... The Punisher :) iykyk

Adam Belfort

I legit skipped all the other Marvel shows (just not to my taste) and came back exclusively for this masterpiece 😂

roncelune

Pardon my french but holy shit ! Anyone else became a huge fan of Ebon Moss-Bachrach in recent years but completely forgot he was in this show ? I already couldn't wait to rewatch it but now I'm ecstatic !

Phantom

its timeeeee

Kai

Yeah I've seen all of them myself before but Daredevil and Punisher is what I'm here for ahah

Tyrone Byrne

nah he was a stand out character for me, thats why me and a bunch of other ppl were like WTF when he got cast for that other movie

roncelune

No but that's the thing I remember the character well but it just never clicked that it was him 😅

Kamanda Hickey

The Punisher is really good. Even if I don't remember everything with my bad memory, I still remember that I loved it 😅.

Kamanda Hickey

Same, I had to google where I saw him because it was bothering me 😂. I didn't remember at all that he was in the Punisher and he has quite a role.

G.C

John bernthal was trained in Russian theater. That’s why he is so good

Jon Bernthal has said that Frank Castle lives in his bones...and it was always important to him to do the character justice. From things I've heard himself and others (like Deborah Ann Woll...Daredevil's Karen) say, he would go toe to toe with the directors and such to make sure he got it right/wouldn't just blindly go along with something if it didn't make sense for the character...and it all helped to make this show feel more real. Fun fact...Luke Cage and Frank Castle are both veterans of the US Marine Core Force Reconnaissance units. Force Recon Marines are special ops capable (insane levels of training) but free from US Special Operations Command (USSOCOM or SOCOM) so that the USMC basically has a special operations team that is under the direct control of the Corps. As someone who grew up with a Marine father (my dad used to teach the sniper school that Frank referenced in season 2 of Daredevil...just at Camp Lejeune and not Quantico) the way the two characters are written and portrayed really nailed the Corps leadership traits (JJ DID TIE BUCKLE: Justice, Judgment, Dependability, Initiative, Decisiveness, Tact, Integrity, Enthusiasm, Bearing, Unselfishness, Courage, Knowledge, Loyalty, and Endurance)
