“Sir, I have to ask an odd question… how do we keep Omni-Man from destroying humanity? Don’t we have evidence he’s really an advanced scout for an alien empire? Why haven’t we done anything?”

Cecil constantly heard this from high ranking GDA agents who just find out this info. Always he just sighs, rolls his eyes, and grabs a cigarette. Cecil just grabbed the closest laptop to him, and began to pull up footage, sighing the whole while.

“Here’s footage from 2 and a half hours ago in the Grayson home. Take a good long look at this, and you’ll know why Nolan is no threat.”

The footage was of the Nolan’s kitchen, as Nolan and Debbie Grayson both wished Mark well on his date. Nolan sat down on the couch, kicking his feet up and opening a bottle of beer with his thumb. It was rather odd to see a man who could punch the planet out of orbit just resting on the couch drinking a beer. It almost seemed human. That was, until he pulled out a weight to work out a bit. The agent quickly recognized it as one of the GDA’s specially designed weights. One for superheroes with super strength, condensed super metal that weighed far more than their size would suggest. The model was instantly recognizable as a 3,000 ton weight, and was nearly the size of Nolan himself. Nolan just repped it as causally as he did, drinking some beer, as Debbie looked at him with hands on her hips and rather annoyed.

“Mark, you really want to waste a free night of no work and no Mark on a ice hockey game?”

“Come on Debbie, you told me to be a bit more human. What’s more human than this?”

“… of course you think being a typical male is ‘human’.”

Debbie scrunched her face a bit with her fingers and sighed in annoyance, and was ready to let it go. Until she saw he put his beer on the wood table. When Debbie got the look at what had just happened, suddenly her face twisted. Before it was just slight annoyance, now it was anger. When Debbie spoke, it was slow but measured.

“Nolan… get a coaster and put your drink on it. I don’t want a ring on my nice table.”

“You can get it yourself Debbie, I’m too comfortable to get it.”

When Debbie heard that, one could feel the temperature in the room change. The agent watching the video had to admit, for some odd reason they were intimidated by the stance Debbie was in. Face of fury, hands balled into fists, and her body twitching. Debbie marched up to Nolan and with speed he didn’t even see, she yanked his weight out of his hand. Nolan looked up, and for a brief while, was actually scared. A Viltriumite warrior was reminded of a fact almost all earthlings know. No matter how tough you are, theirs always someone tougher than you. Someone who was in fact, his wife. The GDA agent watching the confrontation couldn’t believe their eyes, and yet it was happening. A weight specially designed for only Omni-Man to lift was being held up by his wife, Debbie Grayson. All the reported suggested she was 100% human, and had no special gifts or powers. Cecil just smirked as he leaned back, pouring himself a drink.

“Note of advice agent. Never piss off an Asian wife. Really any wife, never piss off. But a Korean mom? Nolan is about to get everything he never wanted, but deserves.”

The agent didn’t know what that meant, but followed along anyway. It may be helpful to see what Cecil meant, and just as they were trying to process what was said, the agents eyes almost exploded. What they saw next also had to be impossible, and yet it was happening! Debbie Grayson, the small wife of Omni-Man and just a plain Jane human, was crushing the weight in her hand with just her grip strength. Metal was bent, rupturing from her palm, as Debbie growled and looked mad as she did so. Nolan’s face as he looked at the weight was something the agent had never believed they would ever see from Omni-Man. Fear. Yet as much fear was on his face, it wasn’t shock or confusion. No, he knew this was possible. Just he was being painfully reminded of something, which only caused Debbie to be more encouraged in her act. Debbie was not done with the weight until it was a cube smaller than her eye, and crushed it utterly between her thumbs. When Debbie spoke up again, she was with complete and full authority.

“Do you want to repeat that, ‘big man’?”

Nolan was now sweating. His muscles twitching, the fear evident on him. He was remembering every moment with her. The good. The amazing. The bad. Then, the painful ones. The ones where she reminded him who wore the pants in the relationship. Nolan was told to take over planets and he would gladly do so. All until he met her. The woman he loved. The woman he feared. The woman who put him in his place dozens of times, and will dozens more if he doesn’t learn his place. Before Nolan could even speak, Debbie bent down and snatched him by his collar. Hoisting up Nolan as if he didn’t weigh anything to her, Debbie held him up as she looked cross at him, her voice almost booming when she spoke.

“What are you going to say Nolan? Tell me. I’m WAITING.”

When Nolan spoke, it wasn’t the authority of the most powerful being in a thousand light years. Because the two people in the room knew who that was. No, he spoke in the submission of someone who knew who the boss really was.

“I… I’m sorry…”

“Sorry?”

“Sorry… Debbie… I’ll get the coaster…”

In an instant, Debbie smiled and dropped Nolan back on the couch as she wiped her hands clean.

“You know, you are my husband Nolan. If you asked me to please get the coaster, I would have gladly done so. We’re married Nolan, we make equal choices here. Just don’t push it, and force me to remind you we can also make it a one person marriage. Now, coaster.”

Debbie pointed to the kitchen where Nolan tripped as he headed towards it. The agent rubbed their eyes, as Debbie got on the couch and changed the channel to home improvement, snapping her fingers. Nolan handed her a bottle of beer, and when Debbie gave him ‘the look’ he nodded, got on his knees and began unbuttoning her pants. Cecil stopped the recording there, and chuckled.

“From what is still going on in there via recording, Omni-Man is a good lapdog for his wife. We’re not worried about him. Debbie’s a good woman, we have no worries about her.”

The agents whole world was rocked, at how casual Cecil was. The most powerful being of all, taken down a peg by his diminutive wife. Really put things in perspective. As the agent couldn’t come up with any words, Cecil spoke again in the same jovial tone.

“Oh, and the son, well no worries there. Not only is he nicer than his dad… well let’s say Mark knows how to pick ‘em.”

Cecil changed the monitor to something new. Mark and Amber at Amber’s room, over the bed as they were armwrestling. Mark was pushing as hard as he can, while Amber just smirked as she forced his arm down as if she used no energy to beat him.

“3 hours earlier, Mark Grayson stopped a jumbo jet from falling over Tokyo. Now, well…”

Mark looked dejected as Amber squealed in delight, and pulled out her phone to order from her place of choice. Mark put his arm back on the table and Amber just rolled her eyes as she took his arm, and went to armwrestling him, paying more attention to the phone than her boyfriend failing to push her arm down. Cecil just laughed and kicked his feet up.

“Aww cute, it’s like his dad. He thinks the fifth try will be when she gets tired.”

“She beat him at armwrestling four times?”

“Tonight. She been beating him at armwrestling for a long while. He’s a nicer kid, but he really is just like his dad. Really makes you doubt his strength when he’s not so
