In Felix's world, Erica would have taken her boyfriend with no fashion sense shopping for more stylish clothes. Yet in the case of Fiona and Eric, Eric taking his girlfriend with no fashion sense, Fiona, shopping for more fashionable clothes kind of feels different. Like, both Eric and Erica were embarrassed by how their partner dressed, and objectifying both Fiona and Felix in a way, but I suppose because of how much more thoroughly women are objectified, it feels worse for Eric to be doing it to Fiona. (Although, I suppose reusing the lingerie shop background from Jess' trip shopping doesn't help).
