DLSS 5 in VaM!!1 And my PC is back! (Patreon)

PC is back — and somehow I'm testing DLSS 5 in VaM from UncleBurrito
Good news first: the PSU has been replaced and my main PC is finally back up and running.
Everything seems stable so far, but I'm still testing the system properly. And apparently my idea of a proper stress test is to throw it straight back into VaM under some rather heavy field conditions — this time with DLSS 5 Neural Rendering running on my RTX 4090. And yes — it works on RTX 40-series cards!
And this is where I want to recommend the work of UncleBurrito.
I tested his VaM DLSS NR and DLAA Plugin, and honestly, I couldn't just walk past this one without saying something about it. It works — and considering we're talking about an early DLSS 5 implementation running inside VaM and its ancient Unity version, it works surprisingly well.
The visual difference can be substantial. In my environments especially, materials, surfaces and fine details can look dramatically better. It's one of those rare modifications where I turned it on and immediately wanted to start looking through my old scenes again just to see what they look like with Neural Rendering.
If you're interested in experimenting with DLSS 5 / Neural Rendering in VaM, I strongly recommend checking out UncleBurrito's work and supporting him if you can.

Your girls are going to look gorgeous — you won’t regret it. 😄
Oh, and one useful tip: you can reduce VaM’s built-in MSAA to 2x or even disable it completely to save some performance. In my case, that gave me back around 8–10 FPS, and DLSS does a much better job with anti-aliasing anyway.
This is a seriously cool piece of work. Thank you, UncleBurrito!
